Wonderful resort for a work conference. The board working & friendly staff are amazing, special mention to Dean Wright. This team puts the term hospitable back into hospitality. Although on a work conference managed to enjoy the beautiful swimming pool and awesome location. Service at the local restaurants was also excellent.

I hate having to write reviews but I'm disappointed. I had booked Peppers after many years of it being on my list of must-stays with friends giving positive reviews. We stayed at Mantra many years ago and we had wished we could afford to stay at Peppers. Now, as a 17yr anniversary treat, I booked a 3 night stay. It seems no updating or proactive maintaining of the resort has happened since it opened. The 1bed Spa room room not cleaned well. Surfaces grimy, mirrors filmy, floor sandy and the shower head has been running water/dripping all night keeping us awake (ill let the staff know about it). Items like lounge, mirror, and furnishings are all scuffed and aged too. The staff at front desk appear to be pretty young and didn't provide us with any information about what-to-do around town, where the hotel facilities are, where the main restaurant is, where to eat etc. We've been asking locals since. Someone else commented the place is becoming 'run-down' and i would agree. The description of the hotel says "Peppers Salt Resort & Spa is located on absolute oceanfront only 15 minutes from the Gold Coast Airport". it really isnt. Its a block back from the beach, about an 8 min walk, and we keep getting locked out when using the access gate. Small things but no minibar as advertised, lack of clear signage around hotel making it hard to find things/places, and lack of staff overall. Wish i had more positive things to say. Its still a beautiful pool and entry way but beyond that, very average.

Hotel is very tired, breakfast average, never saw a staff member clean tables or chairs in 6hr by pool area. Restaurant only open 3 or 4 nights, Cafe over priced and average

My husband and I wanted a relaxing 3 day break but from the first hour of arrival, it was far from relaxing. The room was OK, standard hotel room facing the pool, very basic definitely could have been cleaner. The noise coming from the room above was loud, just the people walking across their room, well you heard every step and movement. Definitely not relaxing, the noise only stopped when they obviously went to bed! The pool, while I'm sure great for children and families was SO loud with screaming children made even watching a movie difficult! On the second day if our 'relaxing' break, we were sharply woken by a firealarm at 5.26am that continued til 5.45am!!! No apologies from any staff. So we were awake so were the people above, the noise was unreal! So we went out! We later read other reviews that said this has happened before at this hotel! The best part of this hotel, was the food. That I can honestly recommend. Seasons restaurant was great. The one basic thing this hotel could do is not going to cost much to fix! Felt on their furniture! Even the restaurant needs it badly on their chairs! Good for families if you don't care about the constant noise, but we definitely would not recommend Peppers.

Check if it's a private apartment or part of the resort first!!!

Didn't realise this room was really air bnb when booked online. As such after 9 hours travel resort reception not interested said can't help you that room is private. In very hot weather hubby has MS and needed to lay down. Took an extra hour of driving backwards and forward to find management service in town for keys. They said they sent emails but travelling all day I wasn't reading emails. It was also cheaper to just stay in a resort room. The worst thing was being dismissed by the agency when picking up keys. If you don't fill out the online book in They dont answer the phone and give you the address to pick up your ffob. It's just so much mucking around. My licence wouldn't upload on the online form and there was no support at all. Also the list of instructions snd warnings behind the door threatening the 150.00 extra cleaning fee spoilt the experience. We washed everything up and made sure it was tidy..I'm not sure cleaners come in to do more than make the bed. It's now 19 days since we stayed. They said the $100 security deposit was released on 9 December but it still is not in our bank account. Beware and take photos of everything. It's just a small basic room with a disabled bathroom and a tiny pool area big enough for one.
