Excellent accommodation - very clean and comfortable. The property is a 10 minute walk from the main town center and local attractions. Staff were attentive and accommodating to our needs. We are definitely staying there again when we are back in Lake Tekapo.

From the beginning of reservation, I was questioning this hotel, which appear to be a service apartment without F&B facilities. They never repply to my email addressing to the link in ALL app. I also addressed via email the potential problem with the payment to my card due to expiration date of my card, but never got attention until the hotel cancelled my bookings. This is REALLY TERRIBLE. When I called the hotel, I was advised to contact the ACCOR Central Reservation, on which they blamed each other regarding my email to them. However, problem solved finally after rebooking and payment made. Upon arrival @ hotel, I found out that this Mantra is a service apartment with no F&B facilities, and no benef to a platinum member, even a welcome drink... This is so annoying, especially that I paid 20% higher rate for this stay compare to Agoda (which I already questioning this hotel and ALL C thru my enail). In addition to that, the condition of the apartment itself need to bebpaid attention. I really feel sorry choosing this hotel....

Mantra Lake Tekapo is a service apartment property, and we do not advertise for any food & beverage facilities on site. This is entirely up to the guests to decide whether it is suitable for them or not. However, we do have our sister property "Peppers Bluewater Resort" about 2 minutes' drive away and we do recommend that to all our gusts. The booking was made through our central reservation team, and they tried to reach out to you on multiple occasions, but they received no response and had no choice but to cancel the booking. Once we established communication with you, we ensured you that we are holding rooms for you. We do agree that this could have been handled better please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent future occurrence. As there is no Food & Beverage facility at Mantra Lake Tekapo, we unfortunately do not offer any arrival drinks to our members. However, room upgrade is offered if available and we did upgrade your rooms during your stay with us. We can assure you that you were given the best members rate for this booking and the rate on any other website would not be able to beat that unless if you are comparing different dates. This is a warm, spacious, clean and comfortable apartment, with a wonderful view and equipped with most things you need. There is even a garage that will accommodate a medium sized car which is a bonus. We have stayed here a few times over the years and sadly each time we come it has worn out a bit more, it is definitely time for a refresh and upgrade. These apartments are not a cheap option and sadly many things are wearing out and, in some cases, don't work or are dangerous. It is looking very tired, and not really worth the high price. The lock on the bathroom door does not work, the basin is badly cracked and missing part of the tap. The plates are all miss matched and there is only 4 of each item, so if you want to use a bowl for dinner and then dessert you must wash the plates between courses. You are expected to turn the dishwasher on upon departure but as they don't replenish the powder during your stay there was no powder to use. Towels are not replaced and there are not enough rails to dry them on in the bathroom between uses. Quilts were badly stained with what looked like food or worse... These are minor inconveniences; however, the most troubling aspect was the plug used on the heater in the living room. It is not sufficient for the capacity of the heater and consequently heats up to a dangerous level when in use which has resulted in the plug melting and burning and if used would be a fire hazard. We made sure it was unplugged and not used during our stay. Finally, when booking on the Accor website a welcome drink was promised, however upon checking at the hotel they knew nothing about welcome drinks or any Accor plus gold privileges. Certainly not the service we have come to expect from Accor properties.

Lack of empathy from management - buyer beware

We booked a one night stay via Expedia and accidently selected the wrong night. Despite trying to immediately contact the hotel to rectify the situation we were unable to talk to somebody until the following day. The manager refused to re-book our accommodation to the following night and held tight to the full fee. It was a simple mistake which we owned but they showed no empathy in assisting with a re-book and greedily took the full fee for us not staying at the hotel. I feel this was very poor behaviour, not very understanding and obviously profit driven.

However, since your booking was made through Expedia, we were unable to make any changes to it directly, hence the staff member you spoke to you on that weekend advised you to reach out to Expedia and request the desired changes. The staff member also advised you that we have no issues accepting a different date, but the changes must come through the travel agent and in this case, it would have been Expedia. This is a standard practice throughout the industry therefore even if we try the system doesn't allow us to change the dates directly on our side. Once you contact the travel agent, they will then contact us to see if we are ok with the changes and we always approve it subject to availability. Mr Admas, we understand that changes in plan do happen and sometimes we do make mistakes with dates, and we would always try our best to come up with best possible solution for our guests. We had a wonderful stay at the Mantra Lake Tekapo in a 1 bedroom apartment. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by the manager Yusef who had the apartment ready for us and also offered discounted rates to multiple local attractions which was great. He also helped us with providing information and maps for the various local attractions which was very useful. We then went to our apartment which far exceeded our expectations. There was an automatic garage, washing machine with detergent supplied, a lovely front and back patio. The lounge room, dining and kitchen were huge and fully equiped. In particular the lounge room was a standout with the large comfy leather couches and the fireplace that we used every night that we stayed there. The bedroom was also large with a huge walk in wardrobe with plenty of room to store everything. The bed was very comfortable and cloud-like, the room heater had the bedroom nice and toasty warm during the 0-1 degree nights. But what really impressed us was the bathroom. The shower was large with great water pressure and shampoo, conditioner and bodywash supplied but it was the heated floor tiles that blew us away. Expecting to step onto cold tiles but instead having these lovely warm tiles in the morning and at night when we knew it was freezing outside felt quite luxurious and special. The whole apartment was clean, spotless and well maintained and we didn't expect a turndown service either which was a pleasant surprise. The wi-fi was also very fast and we streamed tv shows and movies while lying on the comfy leather lounges in front of the fireplace in the evenings. Location-wise, you couldn't ask for better. The Mantra is literally located just on the outskirts of Tepako town so you are away from the tourists. shops and hostel. However, it is a 4 minute walk to the town via a footbridge right behind the Mantra apartments as well as and the Church of the Good Shephard. Driving to town is only 3 minutes, 4 minutes to the Four Square Supermarket and 7 minutes to get to Tekapo Springs. So thank you to Yusef and the Mantra Lake Tekapo for a wonderful stay. We highly recommend staying here.
