Great view but smelly, dirty room

The location and view were incredible but let down by a smelly, dirty unit. From the minute we walked in we were hit with the smell of spies and curry which lingered despite leaving doors and windows open during our stay. We had to wash cutlery and crockery before using it as they were dirty. The shower recess was blocked and the carpet was stained and dirty throughout. Generally we felt uncomfortable in the whole place. We didn't request another room as we arrived after reception had closed and assumed that all rooms would probably have been cleaned to the same standard. The stay would have been amazing otherwise...

Communication was easy and friendly. The location is nice but the room needs a little upgrade for the price and rating. The worst part was that the queen bed had two different mattresses, one "normal" and the second was very soft and lover in the middle. Very uncomfortable sleep.

Rundown apartment. It definitely requires a refresh

Please remove the ‘luxury apartment’ from the front sign board as it is NOT one. Also, please show the actual condition of the rooms on your website. I should ask you for a full refund or take you to higher authorities for advertising misleading photos of your rooms on your website. This is not even closer to Accor standards. Highlights of no 22 apartment. Old furniture, yellow-coloured wall and ceiling, uncomfortable mattress, and old appliances, however good working condition. Anyone can easily say that the ceilings and walls require new painting as it is evident that it hasn’t had any repainting since it was built. It looks like flywire nets aren’t popular in Queenstown. We opened the balcony for fresh air, inviting mosquitoes/sand flies. I believe that the swollen and itchy skin will go away in a week.

We could have simply changed your room if we were made aware of the problems you were facing in the apartment. However I would like to pass on my sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused. We do acknowledge that there are varying degrees in terms of the standard and fit out of our apartments and this is something we are actively working with our owners on to address as a priority. This is challenging process and one, which will take some time as we attempt to justify to each individual owner why they need to re-invest in their apartments. Most owners are receptive and are investing towards refurbishment work, again however, this is to varying degrees, some are well over and above expectations and others are to reach our minimum standard that we would expect. Excellent service, fabulous views, good location. Clean, spacious & well equipped. Comfy beds & good showers. Driveway horrendously steep, could be dangerous in winter. Also stairs in & around units may not be suitable for elderly or people with disabilities or injuries.

We stayed in room 7A for 3nights, whilst in Queens Town. It felt like we were in a basement. The only windows were at the front of the dark damp room. In the bathroom there was little or no ventilation as a result the floor was always damp and slippery!! There was mould on the bottom of the shower door and the whole room felt unhygienic. In the kitchen area there was a lack of utensils for a self catering break. No can or bottle opener to be found however a shovel was found under the sink!! The carpet in the living area was filthy., with plenty of marks on it. The room is located next to the laundry area, with other guests washing their clothes 24/7 and you hearing it all inthe room, not good when trying to sleep. Added with the constant sound of upstairs flushing their toilet, not much sleep was had.Yes the room has a lake view which is great until another guest decides to park their car in fro the of it!! Our room was never cleaned or towels changed in the whole time we were there!! Not impressed at all.
