Back here the third time already. After in and out of other Queenstown luxury accommodations, it is always good to come back to BreakFree and enjoy the hospitality and great view. The location is great, 5 mins to town, 10 mins to the airport. Free parking as well!

The room we got was quite strange, felt like a converted garage or similar. The bathroom had mold on the ceilings around the shower. The ceiling was so low that once I got in the shower my head was touching the ceiling (I’m 6 foot). We mainly used the room as a base for our week in Queenstown and it served its purpose as a place to crash. When we wanted to chill in the room though we found it quite uncomfortable. The couch was a folded up futon and the kitchen stools were giving me back pain after ten minutes. Location is great, only ever took a minute or two to get a short Uber into town. Price was good for seven nights. Bed was comfortable enough. I’d say if you plan to spend not much time in the room it’s a good option. If you like to relax in your room a bit time to time, book somewhere else.

住了7號屋5個晚上,7號屋應該曾翻新,所以設施感覺仍然新淨,設備齊全水溫水壓足夠,還有溫暖的火爐。我沒有自駕但步行400-600米就有巴士站,因此其實沒有不便。甚至可能比起市中心但位於山腰的其他住宿方便。 酒店附近少光害且寧靜,天氣晴朗時露台肉眼可看到銀河,相機可拍到遠方的極光。 唯一問題是前台有人當值的時間通常都是旅客在外的時候,長期住宿時突然要找職員拿物資不易。 有機會再到皇后鎮旅遊我肯定會再選擇這間酒店。

Lovely view

The 2-bedroom apartment was pleasant with a lovely view and handy to town. However, parking was a real issue and, unfortunately, our shower leaked all over the bathroom floor - apparently an ongoing issue that is to be resolved. We were compensated for this.

Not the Experience we were Expecting

There was no one manning reception on check-in (at 3.30 pm). The door to the office was locked with a phone outside and a number to call. We called the number, and a fellow appeared from a closed door behind the reception desk. We had booked a Studio with a kitchen, and he informed us there was not one available. We had booked two nights here and were counting on self-catering. At first he said he could put us in the non-kitchen room for one night, then move us to the kitchen studio for the second night. I said this defeated the purpose of a two night stay, and he relented and gave us the studio with the kitchen. His attitude was condescending, we felt as though he was doing us a huge favour, and he gave us the impression we were interrupting his day. On check-out, at 10.00 am, there was one international, non-English speaking guest waiting at the Reception desk, my partner & I, and yet another guest, all with questions regarding check-out. We had to use the outside phone again to get someone to attend to us. His attitude was supercilious, and not at all welcoming.

I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. However office closes at 5pm and was not locked from inside ,maybe the sliding door was bit hard to open. Secondly Studio room does not come with kitchen facilities except for microwave, toaster & kettle. I can see that you have requested a room with cooktop and we have couple of studios with cooktops but we do not advertise them with cooktop options to keep it same description for studio room type. Your request was on request basis only and was subject to availability and was not guaranteed . There was one available next day and we happily moved your room. Hope you can understand our position here. In regards to using reception phone outside reception –I would like to advise that we are a small team here and everyone is hands on and working around the property during daytime. That’s why there are instructions to pick up the phone and speak to staff on duty in needed. At BreakFree, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent future occurrence.
