Wonderful reef, the best service and staff, good atmosphere and wonderful rooms, good atmosphere for kids, wonderful fishing, we spent a wedding here, and really liked it

Where do I start. Wow wow wow, this place was absolutely amazing. From landing in Male, the getting back to Male the hotel crew was amazing. Meeting you at the airport, escorting through the terminal taking you right to the seaplane was spot on. Then the island well what can I say!! its totally amazing, Its clean, the staff cant do enough for you, nothing is a problem. Shammu in the water villas restaurant is out of this world, what a kind, friendly and generally super guy. He excelled himself on our last night by allocating our table for dinner and decorating it. Its the small details that go along way. Not sure of his name but we call him deliveroo guy as going around villas ensuring everything is right on his bike. Absolutely great idea, one person facilitating everyone can gets what they need. Thank you for delivering our buckets of ice :) We stayed over the deluxe overwater villas and I must say absolutely stunning. The room was spotless. Even being connected by decking walkways it was so tranquil, never hear anyone. The atmosphere and vibe over there was next level. Everyone is so friendly. Staff were amazing right down to the maintenance crew. Over on the island was also amazing, pure white sands, amazing food, beautiful pool. Jan (I think that's how you spell his name) the assistant F&B manager was so friendly and accommodating. Actually doesn't hide away, takes time to take to you, seems to know everyone and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you. Now for the negatives: (Don't panic) The ferry connecting the island I feel needs to run every 30 mins not every hour or on demand. Simple things like I wanted a pair of flippers from the island, but would mean waiting for the ferry, pop to water sports collect them which would take 5 mins and then have to wait another hour for ferry back. Ferry is literally a 2 minute crossing. Jan, you are amazing, but maybe pop over to the villas sometimes. That's it, you are so good why not spread the love. On the island the layout of the buffet was a bit weird, salad station, the desserts then mains. Also wasn't a huge choice but what was there was excellent. The staff at the main restaurant on the island could be a bit more attentive. I think it was the main guy he was excellent but the others not so great, but that could be we didn't go that often so didn't get a repour going with them. And finally this could be me being really picky but the sofas in the bar area at the over water villas are not great for sitting and chilling. That's me complaining !!!! But trust me you will not be disappointed, its an amazing place. I hope to be back just need to save up as isn't cheap. But quality has its price. Highly recommended

Reflecting from another incredible stay at Angsana Velavaru in Dec 8th to 19th and I already can’t wait to go back! This was my second time visiting and it truly felt like returning home. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed so warmly and it was so lovely to be remembered by the team. The service and food have been outstanding every single day. A very special thank you to Khalie, who kept my villa room 132 immaculate and added such thoughtful touches daily, it really made my stay extra special. Huge thanks as well to Appa and the amazing team at Kaani Restaurant, whose expert care, warmth, and consistently delicious meals made every dining experience wonderful. And of course, appreciation to Shibian at the Kuredhi pool bar, who delivered fantastic service and made every visit such a pleasure. I felt so welcomed and enjoyed every second of my stay. Thank you Angsana Velavaru for another unforgettable holiday, until next time!

We (family with two kids) stayed at Angsana Velavaru for 7 days around New Year’s Eve 2026. Upon arrival we agreed to wait for an extra couple of hours in order to have our room previously allocated changed to another one with better access to the beach. We were told the new one (villa 128) is one of the best they have. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed by the conditions we found there which do not match at all the standards of a 5 star resort. - First, the area of the room (Beachfront Family Pool Villa) is far from what is advertised on their site (192 sqm). The room barely had 50 sqm. Even including the backyard (with the pool area) the total area is probably 120-150 sqm. - Second, the backyard pool is in the same area with the toilet seat and the shower (no doors or other closures whatsoever, only one wall without windows). The direct view from the pool to the toilet seat makes the former pretty unusable for the whole family: if you want to use the toilet or the shower you have to ask everybody else to leave the pool and get inside the villa. - Third and most important: the whole amenities of the room were not those suitable for a 5 star. As you may see from the attached pictures, they were more in line with a 3-star hotel, if not below: dirty, real dirty, old, poor maintained furniture, refrigerator with rusty stains and full of ice (they changed the refrigerator after our complaint, but nothing more), dirty, used slippers, toothpaste on the sink from the previous visitors and I can continue. After our complaint they said they budgeted for the furniture change in the next 6 months. Funny! - Fourth, on the beach the distance of our villas sunbeds from the neighboring ones was barely 1.5 meters. Totally different from all the other resorts we’ve been to in Maldives. Moreover, though we were a family we had only two sunbeds. We asked for two others and were told that this is the hotel policy – not to provide extra sunbeds. - Fifth, also important, although the taste of the food was generally good, it totally lacked variety that one should expect from a 5 star resort: only three or four main dishes and some options as appetizers. This was again very different from our previous experiences in Maldives. And I might continue with other negative examples (e.g. insisting a lot for better arrangements for the departure seaplane or for late check out or not receiving the promised 20% discount on a la carte restaurant) but I don’t want to bore the audience. I believe this is enough to illustrate our experience. I rated this stay two stars solely for: - the New Year’s party which was acceptable - it is Maldives after all, with all its charming landscapes and atmosphere. But in this respect the hotel has very little merits.

The oversea villa we stayed in was nice but did need a bit of a spruce up but having our own infinity pool was brilliant no fighting for a sun bed The biggest down side was the villa next to ours and the one next to that was being refurbed and the worked on it every afternoon on our stay sawing ,banging shouting at each other they was even washing their paint rollers in the sea which we did complain about but it fell on deaf ears as the carried on doing it every day. There was no mention of the refurb when we booked and the resort was full so we couldn’t move rooms .The staff was very accommodating nothing was too much trouble for them . Having said that we did enjoy our stay but it wasn’t as peaceful as we expected !!! The island which was opposite our villa was also having work done building more over water villas which also marred our stay
