This place is absolutely magic. Beautiful beyond words. The overwater bungalow was spacious and luxurious. Fabulous gourmet food, and exquisite service with Laila and Ziwaan. Wonderful snorkeling and diving with Sylvia and her team. We even went waterskiing in the lagoon with Nic! Riaash and the attentive resort staff cater to your every need. Daily massages that were absolute perfection. All senses restored! We will be back!

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Angsana Velavaru. We had a beautiful deluxe room with pool which was amazing. So glad we picked this spacious room with beautiful garden pool and great beach access with loungers and day bed. All the staff were amazing especially our room attendant Azee who was so great at keeping our room clean and very attentive with a lovely smile everyday. Dining in Kaani buffet restaurant was really good and had cooking stations with different types of food everyday and a good selection. Our waiter Hathim was very helpful and attentive and very friendly. Kuredhi Bar served a la carte meals which were all lovely and a good choice of dishes and drinks. All the staff were great and very friendly. Funa restaurant is on the water at the end of the pier, beautiful views and my husband had his birthday meal there and they gave us a special cake and birthday song with table at the edge beautifully decorated. We had the chicken satay and green curry which were lovely. Azzurro restaurant is very beautiful but we had a problem with our order not being entered into the system and my husband got his meal and I did not so had to wait which ruined it a bit but they didn’t charge us for it which was nice. I think the food is a little exspensive for what you get. Had excellent check out and great organisation at the airport. Someone took us through with our bags all the way to the check in desk which was so helpful. Can’t say enough good things about this hotel it is so beautiful and staff are amazing. Would definitely recommend coming here. Hope to come back one day.

Not enough day!!!!!

Awesome experience with beach and ocean. Nice view, nature, treatment, spa and delicious enough foods. I like that credit system. We use it perfectly! We did fishing and everyday snorkeling. Only In Ocean pool light problem is considerable but everything is perfect :) I will come back here with my husband.

Exceeding all expectations. Simply excellent!

Spent an amazing week here, escaping from the cold winter in Europe. The beauty of the island is easily noticed from the seaplane approaching the lagoon to land. Everything is "designed" with attention to details and quality, mostly using materials that fit well in the environment (i.e. extra points for lack of plastic, in general). Even the sound system around the bar is top quality and offers a highly enjoyable ambience. We had a beachfront infinity pool villa, just a few steps from the ocean, with a great view even from inside. All amenities perfectly arranged, the garden shower is very practical, and privacy is good. Food is amazing, good variety, served perfectly. Wildlife is spectacular. But the most appreciated is the staff, really making a difference. Everyone is friendly, helpful and polite, seeking to make our stay a memorable one. Small gestures of kindness, sometimes unexpectedly. I cannot name them all for sure, but I'd like to mention two names: - 1. Shah from the Kaani restaurant, taking good care of us each and every visit, learning our preferences and anticipating our needs. In a quiet and polite manner. - 2. Martheen who were looking after our villa, coming twice a day every day to make sure that we have everything we need. And, even prepared some nice surprises for us, very much appreciated & for sure will not forget. All in all, thank you Angsana Velavaru for all the hospitality & hopefully we'll be back again!

Excellent resort and staff, and some comments for vegetarians

Most reviews here give this resort top marks for the beauty of the island and the quality of the accommodation, facilities and food. I agree with them so, rather than just repeat their praise, I'll only comment on a few practical issues that might help others to decide whether to visit or not. Mainly, my wife is vegetarian and I hadn't been sure before we arrived what range of options she would have. I needn't have worried. We were on the all in inclusive dine package, which included meals at the Kuredi bar (table service) or Kaani restaurant (buffet) on the main island. In fact these two are next to each other, and share the same kitchen. The Kuredi has an extensive veggie menu, with multiple starters including skewers, spring rolls and soups, then pastas, pizzas, burgers, paninis and several lovely curries, followed by a nice selection of desserts. The Kaani buffet has fewer veggie choices at first glance, but the waiters assured us the chef would prepare other options if we wanted. I imagine this meant they would rustle up any variation on the Kuredi bar menu, as it was all coming from the same kitchen anyway. We stayed during the World Cup, and I can heartily recommend the Kuredi bar as a relaxing place to watch football with a cold beer! The staff are lovely. Our room attendant Nimal was fantastic, always cheerful, and created beautiful surprise floral displays for us! My wife has some mobility issues, and all of the resort staff were incredibly kind and thoughtful. They lent us a wheelchair for the duration, which is not the easiest to push on sand but was fine on the pathways, and pushing it gave me some much needed exercise! Alternatively we could call for buggy transport around the small island. This is a beautiful, calm, barefoot beach resort, and i would happily recommend it to anyone. Oh, and don't miss the love birds and stingrays!
