A good old 3 star with minimal to no facilities

Passable for under 100 Euro per night, waste of money for 200+ euros which I paid. No major/minor amenities, no gym, dedicated commons areas, welcoming staff, etc.. A good old one night sleep for a budget hotel. I have actually had IBIS budget for much cheaper and more facilities like free water across France and Europe. Staff isn't well trained so I wouldn't be returning, there are many Accor properties around the same area much better than this. Pros : Location is amazing Rooms are spacious Beds and pillows are super comfortable Night duty guy is the most sensible of all staff I encountered during my visit Cons: Staff is quite selective, it is possible they mistreat you just based on if you are French or not, based on simple things if you ask. Hotel doesn't have staff except the front desk so if you ask for a water/ razor or anything, you have to go to the front desk to get it, even if you have kids. They might come but will make you feel like you are bothering them. Hotel is a bit dark in the colour shades that I didn't mind, but there is a lot of damage visible on walls and hallways There was no drinking water in room and on asking the staff, I was made believe that it is a big hassle and I should just open the tap (where there was only hot water in that time) They do not have a proper lobby/reception/restaurant area, its one common are you see in the image and that's all. It neat and clean but there is next to none chances to get some work done, as their people are always around lurking, and giving stares. Walls of the toilet and bathroom are rather dirty and have a lot of stains, also the air vents were quite dirty. My room's shower had black mould but maybe they just didn't clean. Towels were of different shades- meaning some old and tattered some new. There was no play area for kids, no pool, no parking (Which all I knew beforehand), but no GYM which came to me as a surprise for the price point. Breakfast has limited options and nothing for vegan/vegetarians in case of allergies. The air-conditiong was also loud and was hard to sleep coz of that. Most strange thing is when you can hear people from other rooms, specially one right above, each time they go to toilet or bathroom, you hear them flush and walk around or Toal loud. One last thing - WIFI really slow in rooms, and barely speed of 40 in lobby, I showed it to the worker but no response. All in all, if it's a necessity, it is a clean place good for a night. A bad example of Mercure + Accor + the fake 4stars they claim. I am really unhappy with my experience and waiting for management to reply to my email as soon as they are back from their vacations.

The room was clean and well appointed with toiletries, cold drinks and a nespresso machine. Our room was right on the alley so it was noisy, but we didn’t mind as we like to watch the people go by. Shutting the windows dampened the noise considerably and it did not bother us at all as we were trying to sleep. The location is great, right between two plazas that have restaurants, close to a ton of clothing stores if you like to shop and only a 5 minute walk from the tram line 1 that goes directly to the gare. We loved the city of Nantes. The people were extremely forgiving of my terrible French and did not slight us at all for being American. Both Nantes and Angers are the friendliest French cities I have ever been in.

Perfect stay! I discovered this place for a business trip. Well located and quiet hotel, tasteful decoration. Perfect breakfast, beautiful baguette and pastries. The team is very nice. I would love to come back next time :)

First impressions are vital Unfortunately, the reception area is disappointing because there is no official reception area, it seems the breakfast area is also the reception area No sense of authority here much to my displeasure. Our room was comfortable, small, internet okay but no tea/ coffee supplied although you could pay for it down in breakfast area which I thought was a bit mean!. However, most disappointing of all, is the bleak uninspiring black walls in the room,, Gave our room quite a depressing atmosphere. Service was not great. No towels one day until we asked. The good news is that the location is excellent and the bed is soft.They allowed us to store our luggage for a couple of hours. Much appreciated! Also, Nantes is a great place for a visit

We imagined our hotel as a Family House and that's why there is no reception desk. The lobby is also used for breakfast service, it is also a choice. We understand that this is an important amenity for our guests, We are sorry to hear that you found the black walls in the room depressing. This hotel is in a fabulous location. Bars, restaurants and shops all nearby. However the staff are not of the same quality. Our room had a bath but the plug did not work and so the water just drained out as fast as it came out of the taps. The device on the side of the bath was broken and thus the plug was useless. I mentioned to the girl on reception that there was a problem with the bath and it needed fixing. She told me she would get it fixed. Nobody arrived to fix it that day so I explained the situation to another girl the following day. Again nothing happened. Both girls were not interested and ghisvreflects very poorly on the hotel and the Mercure group in general.
