The service was shockingly poor for a hotel of this caliber. I encountered multiple issues that left me frustrated and feeling disrespected as a guest. One particularly disturbing incident occurred when I reported a problem with the bathtub drain and requested maintenance. After waiting for nearly an hour with no response, I called again only to have my concern dismissed. Eventually, a maintenance worker arrived, but what happened next was completely unacceptable. Without just several knock at the door, he used a master key to enter my room. I was completely naked at the time, resulting in an extremely embarrassing and distressing situation for both parties. During a subsequent entry to the hotel, I was abruptly and rudely confronted by a staff member who aggressively informed me that taking photos was not allowed. This interaction was not only unpleasant but also baffling, as I observed numerous other guests freely using their phones to capture memories in the lobby and other public areas. The inconsistency in enforcing this supposed rule was glaring. It seemed I was singled out for reasons unknown, while others continued to snap photos undisturbed. This selective application of rules is not only unfair but also makes guests feel unwelcome and discriminated against.

The Fairmont Baku hotel is in the iconic Flame Towers that are visible from most places in Baku. The hotel itself is in just one of the flames, and has a full spa, indoor and outdoor pools, fitness center, and tons of restaurants and amenities. I stayed both here and one other hotel in Baku and felt like this hotel was overpriced for what it was. Great views, but the rooms and service are a bit dated / sub-optimal. I purchased the Gold option which included breakfast and dinner and a welcome drink. During my stay, I used the gym (please note it only opens at 7am) that was well equipped with a squat rack, smith machine, free weights, leg press, and more. The room was fine, very spacious. There were no items in the mini bar. No complaints. The location is in the Flame towers, which is up the hill from the old city. The walk is about 20-30 minutes if you go to the old city, so it’s not really too close. Staff is friendly

With patience and understanding they understood and anticipated our every need. It was my friends 50th and so they helped arrange a surprise cake and also were kind to give us a sea facing room. When the room had an issue they upgraded us to a spectacular higher floor sea facing room... what a view over Baku city. Be it the breakfast buffet staff or the front desk check in desk, feel sorry that I can't get their correct names...let me attempt ...Sharma, Orzon, Chama and the sweet boy Hussain who gave good wishes to my friend along with the cake...everyone was wonderful. This easily is the best hotel in Baku. Just a bit of improvement in decor is needed as it seems to be old.
