Previously stayed here and opted to pop in past whilst in the area as a day guest. Great service, despite not being an overnight guest, especially from Will Throgmorton in the health & recreation team

I booked this hotel for its ski-in/ski-out location and strong reviews, and despite the lack of snow in early December, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel is beautifully maintained and offers a wide range of activities, including yoga, Pilates, sound bath meditations (my favourite), ski tours, and many other daily sessions. The spa area is fantastic, with several saunas—perfect for unwinding after a day on the slopes. The food at both breakfast and dinner is excellent, and I particularly enjoyed my dinners at Wildflower, where I sampled many delicious dishes. A special mention goes to the wonderful Ski Valet Angels, who take great care of the equipment, welcome you back from the slopes with hot chocolate, and save you the effort of carrying your skis back to the hotel.

A few months ago, we had an issue with valet service of the hotel and initially had difficulty resolving it. However, everything changed when General Manager Ken Hall personally got involved. His approach was professional, caring, and focused on ensuring guest satisfaction. We returned for Christmas, and our stay was nothing short of extraordinary. The Fairmont Gold Team went above and beyond to make every detail perfect — from the warm welcome to the exceptional service throughout our visit. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to Ken Hall and the entire Fairmont Gold Team for creating such a memorable experience. This is hospitality at its finest, and it’s why Fairmont Chateau Whistler remains one of our favorite destinations. Great work!

Wonderful stay over Christmas

We had a wonderful stay at the chateau over Christmas. The staff were excellent. Our concierge, Alan McDonald, was very helpful ahead of our stay, in booking the hotel restaurants for us over the festive period and helping me navigate the complicated Whistler ski pass booking process, which was much appreciated. I heard some other guests complaining about difficulty in booking the hotel restaurants over this period, but the hotel was extremely clear in recommending that guests make restaurant bookings for Christmas Day ahead of arriving. It worked extremely smoothly for us. Nothing was too much trouble. Standout service also came from the ski concierges - especially James. His efforts to assist me daily to and from the boot room were much appreciated. As was the hot chocolate at the end of the day. We enjoyed the spa area each day - this was a high point for me. The French bar man (apologies forgot his name) provided a particularly good service. The only down sides were… the behaviour of some of the other guests (clearly beyond the control of the hotel). This was at odds with the rest of our trip to Canada, where we consistently met friendly, delightful Canadians. Some of the other guests (they were not Canadian) behaved in an entitled way. The lift situation could also have been improved. One of the 4 lifts was out of service during our stay and this led to queues.

Clean rooms, staff is excellent, interior could use some lipstick. Food was pretty good. Good location for skiing. The concierge were excellent
