이번 투숙 중 호텔 측의 미흡한 부서 간 소통과 서비스 체계 부족으로 인해 매우 불쾌하고 황당한 경험을 하였습니다. 저는 이번 예약 시 American Express 카드의 FHR을 이용하여 2개의 객실 모두 오후 4시 이후 체크아웃 및 객실당 $100 F&B credit 등의 혜택을 안내 받았지만 투숙 기간 동안 다음 같은 문제가 발생했습니다. 첫번째, 체크아웃 당일 3번이나 체크아웃 독촉 및 프라이버시 침해를 받았습니다. 보장된 오후 4시 체크아웃을 미리 안내 받았음에도 불구하고 10시(직원이 방문하여 체크아웃 시간을 재촉하듯 확인하고 감), 12시 30분(직원가 하우스키퍼가 재방문하여 왜 체크아웃하지 않았냐 하고 레이트 체크아웃에 대해 얘기하자 프런트도 알고 있냐 의심하는 듯한 발언을 함), 14시 30분(이미 프런트에서 오후 4시 체크아웃을 다시 확인하고 올라온 직후에 하우스키퍼가 오피스에서 체크아웃을 전달받았다며 방문함) 총 3차례나 방해를 받으며 극심한 스트레스를 받았습니다. 부서 간에 레이트 체크아웃에 대한 정보가 전혀 공유되지 않은 것은 매우 전문성이 떨어지는 모습이었고 특히 2개의 객실 중 젊은 동양인 여성 2명이 묵고 있던 저희 방에만 집요하게 찾아와 퇴실을 재촉한 것은 인종 및 연령에 대한 차별적 대우가 아닌가 하는 불쾌감도 들게 했습니다. 두번째, 임의 체크아웃 처리 및 조기 결제를 하였습니다. 방에 짐이 그대로 있고 정식으로 프런트에서 체크아웃을 하지 않았음에도 오후 2시 30분경 일방적으로 체크아웃 영수증이 이메일로 발송되었습니다. 또한 이전에 american express 카드의 FHR 프로그램을 이용했던 타 호텔들에서는 동일 예약 건의 객실별 크레딧을 사전 요청 없이도 합산 적용해주었기에 별도 요청을 하지 않았으나, 해당 호텔에서는 한 객실에만 크레딧을 적용하고 차액을 임의로 결제해버렸습니다. 심지어 이에 대해 문의했을 때 직원은 합산 처리가 불가능하다고 얘기하다가 30분간의 대화 끝에 합산 및 차액 환불 처리해주었습니다. 결과적으로 환불은 받았으나 보장된 서비스를 돌려받기 위해 불필요한 감정 소모와 시간 낭비를 겪어야 했습니다. 보장된 혜택 무시, 특정 객실 대상 반복적인 독촉, 임의 체크아웃 처리 등 격에 맞지 않는 최악의 서비스였습니다. During this stay, I had an extremely unpleasant and absurd experience due to a severe lack of inter-departmental communication and poor service standards. I booked two rooms under the American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts (FHR) program and was informed of the guaranteed benefits, including a guaranteed 4:00 PM late check-out and a $100 F&B credit per room. However, multiple critical issues occurred during our stay. First, our privacy was severely violated by being pressured to check out three separate times on the day of departure. Despite having a guaranteed 4:00 PM late check-out, we were disturbed three times: 10:00 AM: A staff member knocked to aggressively press us about our check-out time. 12:30 PM: A staff member and a housekeeper returned, demanding to know why we hadn't checked out yet. When we mentioned our late check-out, they made questioning remarks, asking if the front desk was even aware of it. 02:30 PM: Right after we returned to the room having just reconfirmed our 4:00 PM late check-out at the front desk, housekeeping knocked yet again, claiming the office told them we had already checked out. Experiencing three intrusive disruptions caused extreme stress. The complete lack of communication regarding late check-outs between the front desk and housekeeping was highly unprofessional. Furthermore, out of the two booked rooms, they persistently targeted only our room (occupied by two young Asian women) to pressure us to leave, which left us feeling deeply uncomfortable and gave the strong impression of age and racial discrimination. Second, the hotel processed an unauthorized check-out and premature billing. Around 2:30 PM, while our luggage was still in the room and before we had officially checked out, a final check-out folio was unilaterally sent to my email. In our previous FHR stays at other properties, credits from multiple rooms under the same booking were always combined automatically without prior request. However, this hotel applied the credit to only one room and charged the remaining balance without our consent. When I questioned this, the front desk initially insisted that combining credits was impossible, and only after a frustrating 30-minute dispute did they finally process the combination and refund the difference. Although we were eventually refunded, having to endure such unnecessary emotional distress and wasted time just to receive our entitled benefits was unacceptable. Disregarding guaranteed benefits, repeatedly targeting and harassing a specific room, and processing premature check-outs without consent represent the absolute worst level of service, completely unfitting for a luxury property.
