Disappointing Experience Despite Great Location

The Fairmont is a beautiful, historic property in a great location, but unfortunately it appears poorly managed and past its prime. To start, a few minor issues - my family and I were charged for various food and drinks that arrived well beyond quoted timelines and were sent back due to being in bed, and a promised $300 resort voucher which was never applied to our final bill. Basic amenities expected at a top California hotel were either missing or unnecessarily restricted: no complimentary water in the room (we had to request it nightly), and gym access required either an Accor membership or a costly daily fee due to third-party management. Unbelievable that it would cost money to work out when spending upwards of $8000 Check-in focused heavily on upselling upgrades rather than guest information. We were told an $1000 upgrade charge was a one-time fee, but it was later applied daily, and a “third night free” promotion was not honored. While the building itself is impressive, the rooms and public areas feel tired and in need of refurbishment. Overall, a significant disappointment and not reflective of a five-star experience at this price point. On previous 1 star reviews, the made commitment to fix these issues. Be very cautious when staying here, there are much better options nearby for cheaper and better service. The Fairmont was not willing to do anything to correct the issues we had during our stay.s

We had a very pleasant experience, from the moment we checked in we were greeted with a smile and the staff was super friendly, made our experience a great one, the room was clean, comfortable and with a breath taking view, honestly worth every penny. I can't thank the staff enough for making our stay an unforgettable one. See you soon Fairmont!

Went over New Years, was child friendly hotel or at least during the holidays. It seemed oriented to families with gingerbread houses and decorations. Beautiful historic hotel, somewhat dated rooms.

사전에 요청한 내용에 대한 회신 및 대응이 조금 아쉬웠습니다. 투숙전에 이메일로 룸 타입을 변경 해 달라고 했는데, 전달이 안되어 투숙 당일에는 조치가 안되고 다행히 다음날에 변경이 되어 이용 할 수 있었습니다. 이 외에도 사전에 이메일을 통한 사항들에 대해서는 회신도 타 호텔대비 늦은 편이고, 또 전달이 안되는 경우가 있음.

This my second time staying at Fairmont and really want to love it however for the cost- the quality of service and features are just flat out poor. The hotel is very dated and old... given the history they can clearly get away with it by passing as "charming or regal" but for the cost you expect at least decent mattresses and pillows. They have outdated plugs... fading carpets, drapery and low quality food. Again, for the price you at least hope for a decent breakfast. No, instead you get a slightly better than free continental quality but much more expensive. In addition the staff is rude when checking you in... they just seem so over their jobs... the wait staff at their overbooked restaurant are also over it and they all clearly just don't care. Next time I will choose a different hotel. ... especially for the price. Not asking for over the top service BUT just be nice and invest in some decent pillows PLEASE
