We stayed 2 nights for a wedding. We experienced long waits for service and especially valet parking. The overall customer service experience was poor, given the cost and reputation of this hotel.

Travelled for a midweek getaway. We upgraded to the Gold floor (4th) which was totally worth it. The view from the room was great, there was a nice lounge area with complimentary breakfast snacks, games and decent coffee. Attentive staff, always asking if we needed anything. The room was large, beds comfy, the linen was top notch. Very little outside noise heard from inside the room. We could walk to everything we wanted to see. Valet parking was quick both in and out. We enjoyed afternoon tea.

Stepping into the Fairmont Château Laurier during Christmas feels like walking into a storybook. Opened in 1912, this grand railway hotel has long been a symbol of elegance and Canadian history, welcoming world leaders, artists, and travelers for over a century. Now recognized with a One Key Michelin rating, it continues to blend timeless luxury with thoughtful hospitality. One of the most cherished traditions here is the Trees of Hope, beautifully displayed alongside the CN Rail Castle Express and celebrated each year, adding even more warmth and magic to the season. Located right in the heart of Ottawa, next to Parliament Hill and the Rideau Canal, the château feels especially magical during the holidays. We feel incredibly lucky to have a room with a Parliament and canal view and to experience this iconic place at Christmastime.

My wife and I stayed at the famous Fairmont Château Laurier this past week-end. Here is a quick review. Beautiful, classic hotel in the heart of Ottawa. Great lobby with the CN Rail Castle Express, a model train display by CN Rail. Beautiful decor, with many paintings and classic, antique furniture. Very clean. We didn't eat there, but have no doubt the food would have been excellent. Great bar (Zoey's). Great location, walking distance from Parliament Hill. We stayed in a room with a comfortable King-sized bed ($400 Cdn), no complaints. Clean, modern bathroom, but no tooth paste (bring your own). Not cheap, especially if you drink the beverages in the mini-fridge (bring your own) but it's really worth staying there at least once in your life.

Thanks for ruining date night. For over 20 years, we have treated ourselves to a night at the Chateau Laurier after our corporate event. We look forward to coming downtown close to Christmas to visit the Market and shop at the Rideau Centre. You can imagine our surprise when we entered the room to find two double beds instead of the king size we requested. Your rooms are not cheap; I paid $400 for a king size bed and received doubles. Needless to say, they are too small to fit two. I called the front desk and received unsympathetic lip service from your staff, who insisted there was nothing they could do - they could care less. We tried not to let this ruin our evening, but it definitely put a damper on it. No problem, never again. Next year we will Uber home and spend our money locally.

We sincerely regret the disappointing experience with us. Rest assured that your encounter is certainly not typical of our usual high level of service. We hope you give us another chance, by returning one day. We are confident that you will not be disappointed. Sincerely, Fairmont Château Laurier
