Fabulous place for special occasion

It had been a long held wish to celebrate my 60th at this hotel and it did not disappoint. Waking up on my birthday to see the view across Lake Louise on a sunny winters day was wonderful. We paid extra to stay on the gold floor and definitely feel it was worth it, especially as we were upgraded to a suite as it was a special occasion. Hotel also sent bubbles and a birthday dessert to the room which were lovely extra touches. Loved the breakfasts and the canapés in the lounge in the evening. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. Whole experience there was fantastic.

Exceptional

Everything was exceptional especially the customer service. Location, property, food, gold level, included activities. All were wonderful. I would return or try the Banff springs property and in general I will now be looking for Fairmont properties any time we are planning a luxury vacation. Only recommendation is to limit access to the gold level by keycard. We noticed many ppl leaving the lounge and taking food/ drinks to rooms on other floors. On our last night there the food during evening canapés ran out early.

A lot of missed opportunity

We recently stayed at Fairmont Chateu lake Louise and were impressed by the beauty of the property and the comfort of the accommodations. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and provided a relaxing space to unwind. The staff we encountered were all friendly and helpful, but it seemed like they may have been understaffed, as service at times felt stretched thin. Our biggest disappointment was the lack of inviting gathering spaces for guests. While the hotel has ample open areas that could easily be utilized, it seems they purposely avoid creating communal spots, possibly to deter non-hotel guests. Unfortunately, this policy does a disservice to paying guests who would appreciate more opportunities to relax and socialize. Additionally, the outdoor ice bar, fire pits, and other amenities—features that could have elevated the experience—were never open during our stay. It was frustrating to see so much potential go unused. Additionally, an. odd inconvenience was that the restrooms on the main level were locked and required a key from the front desk, presumably to ensure only hotel guests could use them. We felt this extra step felt unnecessary and inconvenient for actual guests. The ski shuttle service was also inadequate. For every one Fairmont shuttle, there were two Post Hotel shuttles, despite the fact that the Post Hotel has fewer occupants. This meant longer wait times and less convenience for guests trying to get to and from the slopes efficiently. Waiting for the bus often was contentious as 20+ hotel guests fought to get on a shuttle, often leaving guests behind. In one instance a hotel shuttle pulled up to the guest pickup where multiple guests were waiting and they only allowed hotel staff who were skiing that day on the shuttle, ultimately leaving the guests for another 20 minutes to wait for another shuttle. We found this very unprofessional and poorly executed. Overall, while the property itself is beautiful and has a lot of potential- as mentioned all staff we did encounter were wonderful, the lack of guest-friendly amenities, limited gathering spaces, and operational inefficiencies left us feeling that the experience didn’t match the high standards expected from a 5-star hotel.

Impressive!

Stayed here for a conference. The reputation is of a fancy hotel, rich in more ways than history. The drive up to the hotel is pretty amazing. It’s overwhelming almost, and once I parked in the somewhat tight parkade, I entered the lobby and saw a pretty historic and fancy hotel. The overall hotel is very clean and comfortable. Check in was seamless, and once I made it to my room, it was just as impressive. The bed was very comfortable and the room bright. The hotel is a bit confusing of a layout, but once you familiarize yourself it’s not bad. There are so many stores and food options inside the hotel! Take some time to walk around and look at all the architecture and designs. It was an impressive stay and location. The only eye raising item for myself was the pay for parking, and rich rates for each night. I know there’s lots of beautiful scenery and the stay is something special, so start saving money for an experience staying here.
