Warm welcoming stay amidst a brutal snowstorm!

On a bad stormy snowy Sunday, we were made to feel most welcomed at the check in desk by Will! We were early but he managed to let us check in as the room was ready! Assigned us a lovely renovated room on a higher floor and it was fun looking out of our window as the snow kept falling relentlessly in downtown Toronto ! Everything was delightful, room was clean and had all the necessary amenities. We managed to get a great deal on the rate via a third party; we had a truly lovely stay! Thank you FRY team! We shall be back!

It is such a beautiful hotel that Harry Potter would love the closet as a room! Mom’s review: Beautiful room! Hospitable and friendly staff, and the food is so good that my extremely picky eater finished all her food each time.

I have stayed at the Fairmont Royal York many times, and it truly feels like a home away from home. The location is unbeatable and is right across from Union Station and in the heart of downtown Toronto, making it incredibly convenient for both work and leisure. What really sets this hotel apart, though, is the staff. They are consistently amazing and always make me feel welcomed and remembered every time I return. A special mention to Sherwin from housekeeping, who serviced my room and he was so lovely, pleasant, and attentive. Another heartfelt thank you to Pancy from housekeeping, who was absolutely wonderful as well. I’d also like to highlight Ari at the Reign Bar. He is an exceptional bartender—extremely personable, engaging, and clearly excellent at what he does. Experiences like these are what keep me coming back. The Fairmont Royal York continues to exceed expectations, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Toronto.

I’m honestly not sure whether the customer service at this hotel aligns with the standards of the Fairmont international hotel group. Based on my experience, the level of service was extremely poor and felt almost nonexistent. The staff were not understanding and showed little effort to address concerns. One major issue was the jacuzzi. Before visiting, I specifically inquired about it and was told by the hotel that it was available on the H floor. However, upon visiting, most of the pressure spots were not working, and it felt more like a simple hot bath area rather than a functional jacuzzi. Additionally, the front office attendant I spoke with via in-room call lacked professionalism. When I asked about the possibility of replacing my room due to these issues, my concerns were dismissed without proper explanation or empathy. Overall, this experience did not meet the expectations associated with the Fairmont brand, and it was quite disappointing.
