We recently hosted our Summer 2025 conference at the Fairmont Banff Springs, and I cannot say enough good things about our experience—especially working with Barb Wallace, our Conference Services & Catering Manager. As someone who used to be in her role at the Fairmont Olympic in Seattle, I know how demanding this job can be, and Barb handled everything with grace, professionalism, and warmth. This was only my second major event with ABOTA, and after a challenging experience at another property earlier this year, I was truly blown away by the level of service and support we received from Barb and her entire team. Despite being short-staffed on our end and working with some tight planning timelines, Barb made everything seamless. Her attention to detail, responsiveness, and calm demeanor made a world of difference. She and her team went above and beyond for us every step of the way. On a personal note, Barb also made me feel incredibly appreciated with thoughtful welcome gifts, and even the spa staff surprised me with a sweet gesture. It honestly felt like coming home. Thank you to everyone at Fairmont Banff Springs who helped make our event such a success. I wouldn’t hesitate to return, and I highly recommend this property—and especially Barb—for any group or conference needs.

This is a very large hotel that is dominated by tour groups and corporate groups. The service is generally good but never feels very personal. Absent a group discount, room rates are extremely high. We had a King room in the Gatehouse wing of the hotel. I do not recommend staying there. It’s far away from the lobby and very inconvenient. The bedroom and bathroom were average size and reasonably nice. The tv was finicky. E.g., the guide and menu functions didn’t work. We were told that this has been a problem for several months with the cable and/or software company. For the prices they charge these problems should have been corrected a long time ago. We were expecting a larger room like a junior suite. It turns out that they renovated the room after we booked it and it was now much smaller. They comped us a free night because of the downsizing which I thought was more than fair. I received a rather ordinary cheese platter as a Diamond level welcome gift. I had access to the Gold Lounge which had excellent buffets for breakfast and happy hour. Service was ok but not very friendly. The hotel is about a 25-minute walk from downtown with some great views of the mountains. They provide you with a city bus pass to make the commute easier. I thought the hotel was reasonably nice but a poor value. They charge an arm and a leg and the experience isn’t noteworthy. It feels like they cater primarily to corporate groups and not individual travelers. I was glad I stayed here once but I wouldn’t return unless the rates dropped significantly.

A fabulous Fairmont, Breakfast in the Gold lounge was good with excellent choice and a smashing team. Our room (547) was spacious, comfortable and everything worked! We would definitely stay here again. The young concierge was terrific! Jake in the gold lounge was a delight!

Fabulous place Highly recommend for an extraordinary experience . Scenery stunning ,staff first class , lots of eating spots But has 780 ish rooms so very busy . Gold Leaf is well worth it ,but it is expensive Loved it for 3 nights after Fairmont in Calgary and Fairmont to come in Jasper and Lake Louise

Love this place. Location is close enough to walk to town or the river but still secluded. Different restaurants to eat at if you’re too tired to go to town. They also have lots of activities you can sign up for like gondola up sulfur mountain; wildlife safari, etc
