Room too small, location a bit far to the old town

It was a bit far to the old town. A 20-30minute walk or there is a bus available nearby that cost 2.50 euros per person per trip. The room were very small for a family of 3, there was no space for the luggage and lack of shelving storage but we managed. The breakfast selection were and the area can be really crowded. The restaurant however offers a delicious meal and drinks. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Due to the location, we'd probably chose a different hotel closer to town.

A great location—just a few minutes’ walk from the city centre and conveniently close to Dampoort train station (so make sure to use this station instead of Ghent-Sint-Pieters if you’re staying here). Probably one of the best Ibis Budget hotels I’ve stayed in. The hotel is nicely designed, with a comfortable interior and satisfactory rooms (a bit on the smaller side but still reasonably comfortable). The lobby offers plenty of seating, a microwave, and even a small library with a rack of books. You can also rent bikes here. Overall, a really nice hotel.

I booked the Ibis budget as I just needed a place to sleep and wasn't going to be in the hotel for much of my stay. But I was shocked at the quality of the place. More like a 4 star hotel. Friendly staff, the bar man especially. Clean, comfortable and with everything you could need. Location is great as well, a very easy walk into the centre.

Currently staying at this hotel and really surprised at the negative reviews. The hotel has all the amenities you need for a budget price. The food is great and reasonably priced for the quality. We had pizza and Belgian fries which were a solid 9.5 out of 10. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but adequate.
