Was central and convenient. Bar staff and receptionist very friendly. Nice foyer bar area. Lovely tapas style food at the bar. Good rates. Breakfast was an another hotel at the back of the Ibis. Just 50 meters. Breakfast was adequate. Bedrooms good, though bathroom was in a pod and there was no insulation noise privacy. Would stay again.

Absolutely awful and disappointing experience!!! They promised you a comfortable room just to give you one with a malfunctioning toilet. Wake up at 2am to use the restroom and after I flush the water tank didn’t stop making that awful noise of filling up. Water running and the tank noise it was an absolute nightmare!!! I thought of calling the receptionist but it was 2am so I didn’t want to wake up my husband to change rooms. Next day spoke with the receptionist about it and she couldn’t care any less! Avoid as you book a room for a comfortable night sleep and you end up with a crappy one

Cute hotel - well worth the price paid

I visited with a friend mid week. The hotel is very central to where we needed to be. Close to shops, Xmas markets & tram and train station (Piccadilly). We were able to check in earlier than time stated, which was great for us. The hotel has a unique decorative choice (based on the weather) but was funky and interesting to explore. The reception area had seating and a vending machine for drinks/snacks. There is also an internal entrance to the restaurant next door, though we didn't visit. You cannot get onto the floors with bedrooms without your room card which made it feel very secure. The room had everything you'd expect and was very clean. Our room didn't have any natural light due to location but when you are using it to just lay your head, that isn't a problem. The room we stayed in was petite but had room to move around and sockets by the bed so suited us perfectly. When staying in Manchester, I would definitely stay here again

Water Disruption Across 12 Rooms, No Compensation

Stayed at Manchester Portland for 8 nights with 14 rooms, and we faced a water disruption affecting all rooms. Despite this serious issue, the hotel only compensated 2 rooms, which is unacceptable, especially given the health and safety risk of having no water. However, the front office staff, especially Cindy, was very nice and helpful throughout. Unfortunately, management’s response was minimal. As a Platinum member, this was my worst experience with Accor—would not recommend.

Not worth the price

The room was very small for the price I payed £250 for Saturday night alone The bathroom was cramped - the sink is behind the door The water was not working the last night of my stay I would not recommend this place Will be looking for else where for future stays in Manchester
