Solid upmarket hotel in Adelaide

We found the hotel to be a decent property; it newly opened in 2021 and it had most of the bells and whistles that one would expect from a ground-up facility. The Prestige Suite was a reasonably spacious 56.9m² (613ft²) in size and offered very nice views of Adelaide, although I'm assuming most other rooms on higher floors also provided equally stunning views since the building towers over everything else around it. Our suite had two bathrooms, which was unusual given that it wasn't a massive room to begin with, but it was definitely appreciated by my wife. The other thing we appreciated was the complimentary toothbrush and slippers - we don't go to Australia enough to know whether this is standard practice (like is the case in Japan) or unusual (most U.S. and European hotels do not.) What we did not like was the absence of a washlet toilet. For a new-ish hotel I would've hoped they would equip the rooms with the latest Toto toilets. Service was decent - we didn't encounter any hiccups on the part of the staff, unlike our experience later while staying at the Ritz-Carlton Melbourne. Overall, no news is good news. Solid hard product, no unexpected service snags and a decent (but not great) breakfast spread works for us, at least for an overnight stay prior to heading out to Kangaroo Island.

I recently stayed at Sofitel Adelaide in May 2025 and had a fantastic experience! The property excels as a business hotel, with spacious rooms, great amenities, and a fantastic location. The building's design ensures a sense of openness, avoiding any claustrophobic feel. While the breakfast was decent, I noticed limited vegetarian options. Despite this, I'd highly recommend Sofitel Adelaide for its overall quality and service. 👍 #SofitelAdelaide

Check in efficient. New hotel. Room nicely appointed, corner room lovely with great views. Air con wasn’t working - so hot when I walked into the room. Reception fixed/reset promptly. Shower pathetic flow. Garçon Bleu - waitress swore when making a mistake, highly unprofessional. Guests normally go to a hotel for rest. Room was on Floor 17. From midnight through to 5.30 am, no rest for me! A car alarm went off about 10 times. Police sirens. Very rowdy nightclub and patrons located nearby, finally had peace at 5.30 am. The Nightclub possibly doesn’t open during the week so might be an ok option then, might pay to check first. For the price? Never again. Plenty of other lovely hotels in the CBD to choose from.

Sophisticated elegance

Staying at this hotel is special. It has a sophisticated elegance. All the staff are friendly and well trained. Without exception, you are looked after in every way. If you stay here, treat yourself a room with club access. This club is exceptional with staff that look after each and every guest. You are welcomed, seated and served. There is a great choice of nibbles to snack on, along with a variety of drinks. Breakfast is served in the club on the weekend, which we enjoyed as it is much quieter than the main buffet breakfast area. The room we stayed in was spacious and well appointed with a view to the coastline. So, again book a room facing the coast, as the sunsets are stunning. We also dined at the Garçon Bleu restaurant. All of our meals were beautiful presented and delicious. Congratulations to the General Manager of this hotel for creating such an inviting and special place to stay.

Wir wohnten eine Woche lang im 22. Stock mit einer großartigen Aussicht in die Adelaide Hills. Auch in anderen Aspekten ist die Lage am Rande der Innenstadt großartig, denn Einkaufsstraßen, Parks (incl. eines sehr schönen Zoos), gute Restaurants (vom sicher auch sehr guten im Hause, das wir leider aus Zeitgründen nicht probieren konnten abgesehen) und Veranstaltungsorte sind bequem fußläufig zu erreichen - in unserem Falle sogar nur etwa 3 km bis zu einer ehemaligen Formel-1-Rennstrecke, die immer noch dann und wann tolle Veranstaltungen bietet, so während unseres Aufenthaltes das Finale der australischen Top-Motorsportklasse. Unser Zimmer war von sehr generöser Größe und bot auch viel Stauraum für unser (auf drei Wochen gerechnetes, samt Opernbesuchen!) Gepäck. Außerdem viele USB-Ladeanschlüsse im Zimmer verteilt - kein elektronisches Gerät bleibt unaufgeladen ;-) Sehr reichhaltiges Frühstücksangebot, nicht ganz billig, aber preiswert. Das Personal ist sehr hilfreich und freundlich. Bei Anreise mit dem Auto: streßfrei-bequemes und ggf. regengeschütztes Ausladen in einer Durchfahrt hinter der Hotellobby. Garagenplätze gibt es in ca. 100 m Entfernung in einer an sich recht geräumigen Hochgarage zum Hotelgast-Sondertarif. Einfahrt dort nicht ganz locker möglich, da sehr enge Kurve zum Einfahrtsschranken - im Zweifelsfall besser ein kleineres Auto mieten...
