Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort

My wife and I stayed in a beachfront bungalow the first week of November. From the time we landed till the time departed we experienced the vacation of a lifetime. I'd like to acknowledge the staff at the Italian restaurant and Augus in the dive shop for making our stay perfect.

Anyone looking to elope in a gorgeous and affordable location this resort provides just that. I wasn't the bride to labor over any decisions (aside from my vows) so I was lucky to find the resort and book within 3 months of the trip. They were THAT flexible to accomodate us. The romantic event package makes it beyond simple yet everything is executed beautifully and with care. We had nothing to stress over once we were there. The views are dream inducing but the staff makes you feel right at home. Our wedding photographer Sharn was INCREDIBLY talented and so genuine! Thank you for bringing our memories to life & giving us so much to smile about for yrs to come 💙 Maazin made our wedding dinner on the beach unforgettable. We felt like we were spending time with a friend whenever you came to our table to chat during the trip. The food was delicious- being from the U.S. we loved having a variety of Maldivian, Indian and Sri Lankan dishes to choose from at the Alita buffet. Vista offers Italian cuisine with spectacular deck and balcony views. We stayed in an over the water villa- highly recommend snorkeling outside the rooms and venturing to the drop-off to see the unreal variety of life out there..including sharks! 3 important considerations: 1. The domestic flights are SUBJECT TO CHANGE (of course) but the return is scheduled the night before you leave by the resort. Due to a severe tropical storm we weren't able to get off the island in time to make our 9:30PM Malè to Qatar flight the day of checkout. It resulted in a significant cost to rebook thru Qatar Airways. We would schedule a buffer night in Malè next time to avoid ever missing a major flight home (we thought a late eveing flight was safe but were wrong). 2. The outlets are U.K. standard so you need power converters if bringing U.S. appliances like hair dryer, curler, steam iron etc. 3. We were there 7/23-7/31 and were gifted 6 out of 9 days of stunning weather but idk if I could rightfully recommend going during their monsoon. My wife and I had the most memorable 9 day holiday with another couple who are our life long friends. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Staff and Manager want it to be the best holiday of your life and they go our of their way to make that happen. We loved our holiday ❤️ and have life long memories.

What makes this resort extra special is the staff. Ideally located the villas are really well maintained. Rooms are spacious clean and well set up from the fully maintained bar fridge and snacks, to the lovely outdoor bath and shower. Rooms are serviced every day and our room was well looked after by Jilani. Wifi here is excellent throughout the resort. The gym is clean and has well maintained equipment. You’ll need to use it after experiencing the wonderful food and drinks on offer. Alita restaurant is amazing with a huge range of dishes to satisfy anyones taste and diet. Here again you will be well looked after by the staff - Nashid, Ibrahim, Hammed and Layella to name a few. Before meals check out the Pool Bar where the bartenders will cater to your favourite drinks and cocktails and if you want to lounge around the pool and eat there then you can savour the wonderful snacks on offer. There are a range of activities. The dolphin cruise - no dolphins but a beautiful sunset and to be fair the people on the cruise the next day saw plenty. Go fishing and if you are lucky to catch a fish you can take it back and ask the chef to cook it for you. For the adventurous there is jet boats and for the less inclined wonderful massages. There is also a snorkelling cruise but there is plenty of colourful fish to see around the resort as well as turtles, reef sharks and stingrays. Did I mention how wonderful all the staff are at the resort. We spent ten glorious nights here and highly recommend it.

Bigs thumbs up to Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort's staff, they made our stay heavenly in that paradise-on-earth lost in the middle of the Indian ocean. Their care for our well-being and happiness started when they whisked us to the resort lounge at Male airport for the short wait to the flight to Kooddoo. Once in Kooddoo, we were driven in 60 seconds to the resort reception for welcome drinks and then within 3 minutes taken to our 'sunset view, pool-villa over water' even though we had arrived way before the normal check-in time. We also thoroughly enjoyed the very refined food (with endless buffets changing every day), the comfort, the all refilled minibar, the dolphin cruise (with lots of dolphins!), the jet ski and other water sports, snorkeling among beautiful fishes, and the delightful 360-views from our villa. As this is an adult-only resort, it is completely peaceful and nothing ever disturbs the harmony of nature. We also very much appreciated that the resort operates with a super generous all inclusive package. We are so delighted that next time we visit the Maldives, we won't look for another resort to stay at, but will directly return to Mercure Maldives Kooddoo.
