A nice decor, but over-priced and the noise is an issue

The staff at the reception is really nice and helpful. The roof- top bar is super with beautiful views over Hollywood. The breakfast is good but highly overpriced. For Californian breakfast I had to pay 23 dollars, and when I wanted a glass of orange juice, I had to pay five extra dollars for it. The tip is included in the breakfast bill, so you don't need to leave any extra tip if you don't want to. The noise in the hotel until midnight is also an issue in Mama Shelter Los Angeles. I don't think it's a good idea to combine a club and a hotel, or the club should be in the separate building far away from hotel rooms. One night I wanted to read in the room, but it was impossible because of the disco music. The music lasts until midnight. A good hotel for young adults who want to go clubbing, but not for middle- aged people who would like to have a good night' s sleep. The decor in the hotel is, however, pleasing to the eye.

The staff is wonderful at this hotel . They are friendly and available. The rooms are comfy. The food is very good and the rooftop restaurant is nice with beautiful view. The valet is quick but $55 a day . There is some metered and public parking. The location is great. The farmers marketi on Sundays is very close. My only complaint is that it’s just loud all the time . You can hear the music from the rooftop and from the bar in your room. I did ask for a room, however did not really help. Even on a sunday afternoon I hear the bass in my room . If you’re young, and it doesn’t bother you, you will have a great time.

Great place! The Front Desk was accommodating, and friendly. Security was helpful. Very clean. Good Wi-Fi. Fantastic rooftop bar. Water pressure was good. Great location for walking to the Hollywood Bowl, and the Metra Station. I will be back.

Chose the hotel due to its central location in Hollywood. Walking distance from the Hollywood Stars, and we even went outside the Oscars! Hotel has an active and I guess popular rooftop bar that gets plenty of guests in the evening so the noise of the bass from the music goes on till late night. Be aware of that. We were on the top flor just below the bar so heard the music will maybe past 2am? The reception is small, as they have the ground floor bar (also lots of people in the evening) and the elevator to the floors creaks a bit! Rooms were ‘different’! To say the least. Funky lamps, and furniture. Comfortable beds. Boxed water! And a safe locker much needed. We had great breakfast both days we were there. We also used the valet parking for our van. Since we did not know the area. They would get the car in under 5 mins. Efficient. Safe. This was a family short visit to LA as we drove down from SF along Route 1, a FABULOUS experience. That for another review! This hotel works.

Enjoyed the rooftop restaurant and view, it has a nice atmosphere but you are definitely paying for it with the food and drinks. I wouldn’t say anything I’ve had to drink or eat there is particularly outstanding for the price but like I said it’s because it’s such a nice location that I feel like it costs as much as it does.
