Not very good service, price or room,.

I was bumped from a late night flight at GRU and went to the IBIS Grauluhos. After a half hour wait after midnight, they said they had no rooms available and said there were some at the IbisTatuape. I checked this twice with the desk clerk. Then, while waiting for an Uber, another client approached me and told me not to trust the clerks, that they had not called the other Ibis. She offered to speak with them and get them to call. ( I don't speak Portuguese well.) We went inside and the clerk looked at the computer and said there were rooms. I got to the Ibis Tatuape about 2am and the clerk said there were no rooms. I insisted that the other Ibis said there were rooms. He finally found one. No towels and 480BRL for the night - twice the normal price. I would write them for an explanation, but I don't see a means of contacted them on their we site. So, they get a poor review.

Referente a seus questionamentos, a disponibilidade de apartamentos do hotel ibis SP Tatuapé é gerida única e exclusivamente pelo hotel ibis Tatuapé. Conversei com nosso recepcionista e ele me informou que, mesmo estando sem disponibilidade de apartamentos, optou por atende-lo para que você não tivesse que buscar outro hotel. Quanto ao valor cobrado, cada hotel trabalha com um preço diferente. Os preços alteram devido à localização, eventos que estão sendo realizados no dia e disponibilidade de apartamentos na zona primária. Na data de sua hospedagem, estavam ocorrendo na cidade de São Paulo os dois eventos mais esperados do ano. Ambos começaram no dia 16/05/2022. The hotel is new, very clean (bathroom spotless but small, no bath tub). There were lots of electric outlets in the room. The 12 noon check-out time is great. The internet was strong when it worked, but there were periods of hours when it was down and my laptop in particular had a lot of problems some of which were aided by a friendly technician with whom I spent an hour on the phone at the front desk one afternoon. The staff at reception were friendly and helpful. A typical Brazilian breakfast (cost included with my room, otherwise R$27) was excellent, including the coffee. My room was very small. There was a short rod, maybe two feet long, with six hangers and a shelf, but no other place to put clothes. There was no place to put my suitcase except the floor and when I did that, I had essentially blocked the bathroom door. There's a small fridge, but it was empty. There was not a single bottle of water nor a glass or cup of any kind in the room, let alone a coffee machine or kettle. The lobby area is rather eclectic and inviting with a bit of a beach theme, canvas chairs and hammocks and colourful rocking chairs but it was hard to find a comfortable place to sit just for a drink. Most chairs were at tables set up with knives and forks as if you were expected to eat. There was no pool or fitness area. There is a large shopping mall in the Tatuape transit station with lots of stores. I noticed even a bus to the airport. There's a long street called Tuiluti maybe 10 minutes walk away where one gets the real feel of Sao Paulo. For a night or two, this hotel is OK, but not for a longer stay.

Thanks Mr. Edgar for your sincere analysis of our hotel. We are sorry about the internet issue, but we are already contacting a new service to better attend our guests needs. We are happy that you enjoy our breakfeast and that you felt welcomed by our staff. The Ibis Tatuapé is a economy class hotel, but for us it has a slightly different concept than North America so our units don't offer pool or gym facilities. Your reception had extra room for luggage if you need, and our minibar is empty so you can choice the products of our preference in the bar that works 24 hours and includes a selection of coffee and teas. Our unit is indeed near the Tatuapé station and there is a shuttle bus to the International airport, we also consider the location one of our best features. We hope in the end, that your main feeling is a positive one about a return to our hotel in your next visit to São Paulo. We for sure will be waiting. Once again, thank you.

Very new hotel, it opened in Sep/2018 so everything looks relatively new. Very good location, 5min wall from Tatuape Train Station. You will get everything you could get in other Ibis hotels around the world. Pros: comfortable bed, nice shower, good bathroom, nice breakfast, great location, good internet. Cons: not to friendly staffs, missing USB ports in the bedroom, poor selection of drinks at the bar Overall 8/10
