Great location but average hotel

Good things: - great location just 3 minutes from Av Paulista - big and comfortable bedrooms - very helpful and kind reception staff Bad things: - it’s an old hotel with many issues - bedroom entry cards get deactivated all the time. You get frequently locked out and you need to go to reception and activate your door card every time you move from the room - there’s a collection of different pillows on the bed. Some old and stained with yellow sweat stains - disgusting (see pictures). Some flat and worn out. Some ok. - air conditioning in the bedroom hardly works. It’s set up non stop on 17 degrees and the room is still very warm - there are only 2 elevators and they are very slow. They are card activated but cards sometimes work and sometimes don’t work. It’s very frustrating - air conditioning in lobby restaurant area doesn’t work. It’s very hot and uncomfortable - bedroom TV has very bad reception and includes mostly news and Brazilian channels. Just super boring.

WiFi was terrible. They only allow 2 connections per room which is inadequate for 2 business people. Connections also needed to be reset often. Restaurant food was good but they only had one wine by the glass, a red. Wait staff were not knowledgeable about what they had on menu. Had to ask someone else.

The location and amenities were good. I think the services (meals, cleaning, etc) were average and I was a bit disappointed with the room. I thought it would be larger based on the description. The breakfast was good, though its not always included in the room rate

Great hotel in the heart of São Paulo. Fantastic front office team the two gentleman who were working during my stay were extremely kind and helpful at all times! Made the stay super easy abs pleasant! I will be back ! Easy access to the best restaurants and the famous Avenida paulista Aline

Since April 2019 I always stay at Mercure Grand Plaza Paulista. Location is convenient, few steps from Paulista Avenue. Also walking distance from Patio Paulista Mall. The staff are helpful and friendly. Breakfast is very good, assortment wise and quality of the goods. Rooms are ok and very clean. A very nice place to stay in São Paulo, makes me feel like i am at home
