Great hotel - just 500m from SOF Airport & M4 Metro - Attractive rates - Fresh, modern & clean - Recommended

Stayed at the Ibis Sofia Airport Hotel for three nights and had a really good experience. The hotel is located only 500 metres away from the Sofia International Airport (SOF) outside of the capital Sofia, Bulgaria. It's also very conveniently accessible as the metro station for the SOF Airport starts/terminates right by the main entrance for the airport terminal building, so this hotel is an excellent choice not just for stays in connection to flying in or out of the airport, but with the excellent public transport with the M4 metro line to/from the city centre it's a good choice for all kinds of hotel stays. I was assigned a room on the top floor with view towards the airport, just as per my request, which was honoured. It is however not such a high building and unfortunately a little bit too far away from the airports runway to have any good view of aircrafts landing/taking off or of the runway. It's a standard original red Ibis Hotel with the standard Ibis interior and decorations through and through. Everything was immaculate clean and fresh, nothing broken and the flat screen TV and the WiFi was also good and in all there was only one small discrepancy and that was the power outlet cover on the wall was loose and fell of and exposed the live electricity wires, otherwise no other discrepancies of any kind. In conclusion, I was very satisfied and the location and the attractive rates plus the great accessibility with the subway and close vicinity of the SOF Airport is really excellent. Would definitely stay here again and could really recommend this hotel.

This is a typical Ibis with standard room layouts and standard furniture. There are plenty of outlets for charging devices. The airport shuttle is available when called. We used it daily. The breakfast buffet is available at an extra charge and has many selections. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant two nights in a row. The food was satisfactory. Our waiter Lachezar was friendly, efficient and was a very hard worker who hustled to get us our food and beverages. The staff all speak fluent English. This Ibis met our expectations and was a good value.

Not clean , bad interior, small room. The bilding is like prison.Staff is slow. Only the driver of transfer is perfect.

So you have an early morning flight to catch at Sofia airport. This is a good place to stay overnight. They have a decent restaurant, the rooms are comfortable and they have a reliable shuttle service to the airport. I think that’s all you really need. The style is for young hip people, but if you’re old and not hip, it still works fine.

Location is everything and it’s a good job as this is all it has to offer. €90 a night is scandalous. grubby linen and towels, aircon is useless, a solitary kettle in ur room and nothing else. Afternoon reception could just about be bothered to book me in. Luckily morning reception staff and shuttle driver were pleasant and friendly.
