There are limited resorts in the area but this is a must. I was upgraded to what turned out to be a glamping Lodge which had everything you need - including excellent AC. Breakfast was basic but decent and restaurant whilst slightly limited options was decent fayre. All staff really friendly and helpful

Beautiful gardens and landscaping and lovely pool and cafe/restaurant area

We came to this hotel to meet up for our 9am Yellow River Cruise as it was the main pickup point. We got there in good time to have drinks and snacks in the cafe/restaurant. The hotel looked beautiful - the pool area and restaurant had a lush tropical feel and the gardens and landscaping were lovely. There was a well stocked shop there too. We'd stayed the previous two nights at the Mercure Kakadu and, after seeing Cooinda Lodge, regretted that as we would have enjoyed staying in Cooinda Lodge a lot more. It would also have meant we could have done the Yellow River Sunrise Cruise but we didn't want to risk the 45 minute drive from Jabiru to here in the dark so missed out on that. Top tip - make this your base in the park! Although staying here does make being at the Ubirr Sunset Point almost impossible as that is a 90km/1 hour drive so wouldn't be great after sunset.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Cooinda Lodge is designed to be a central hub within Kakadu where guests can relax, refuel and transition easily between experiences. It is pleasing to hear that the outdoor spaces, pool precinct and food and beverage areas created a strong first impression and delivered the atmosphere you were seeking. Being located onsite with Yellow Water does offer practical advantages, particularly for early departures and immersive experiences at dawn. At the same time, Kakadu is vast by nature and every base within the park comes with different trade offs in terms of access and driving distances. Planning around those realities is part of navigating a destination of this scale and significance. We appreciate your perspective and hope you will consider staying with us on a future visit to fully experience what the lodge offers as a base within the park. The Cooinda Lodge Team

Good busy lodge in a great location

Large busy lodge in the national park. I had a chalet type room. Was very good. And very comfortable with a patio. Pleasant staff. Stayed two days and they serviced the room each day. The restaurant was ok. Some parts excellent such as the fresh squeezed OJ machine at breakfast. But if go at a busy time can be crazy and they had run out of items by then. There is no Wi-Fi in the room.

Our team works hard to maintain service standards, housekeeping consistency and guest comfort even when volumes are elevated, so it is encouraging to know this was reflected in your stay. Your observations around the dining experience during peak times are acknowledged. Managing demand in a remote destination is an ongoing focus for us and feedback like this supports continuous refinement of our operations. Connectivity is intentionally limited across much of the lodge. Many guests value the opportunity to disconnect and fully engage with the natural environment and cultural setting that surrounds us. Terrific resort, clean and comfortable rooms, fabulous restaurant (delicious meal and great service). On the expensive side and the check in was very slow but overall a wonderful experience for us.

Cooinda really exceeded my expectations! I thought it was going to be another basic, over-priced Aussie stay, but everything was wonderful, from the comfort in the glamping tent (the beds were like clouds!), to the quality of the amenities (super clean bathrooms and fresh towels provided), to how good the food was. I had a delicious kangaroo burger for dinner because ‘when in the outback’ and it was so tasty! Honestly I loved our stay! The pool was beautiful and got so much sun, the breakfast was varied and super fresh and the yellow water cruise was great! Batch was our guide and he was SO knowledgeable, we learned so much from him, without it being overbearing. I’d absolutely visit again! Thank you
