Great place to stay!

Very nice place to stay. Very central in Kakadu. The staff here very helpful. They are mostly students of work visas enjoying the country. Nice restaurant and in November it is the only restaurant open! Very nice swimming pool, which was an asset as it was extremely hot at this time of year.

Poor service and not what we paid for

Arrived early basically told to go away until lunch time though when booking chose the time we would arrive. Came back for lunch and waited 10 minutes at the stand here and wait sign. Booked in to find the extra we had paid to have a ground floor room with outside chairs and table was not available and no offer of refund of the extra paid. I had called to ensure this was what I was getting for the extra and was reassured. No water supplied in the mini fridge. Room only just clean meaning a quick wipe over with no attention to details like calcium build up in the bathrooms. Great start to our holiday! Won’t be back!

If we are able to check guest in earlier, we always will, this is unfortunately not always possible. The booking was made for a Superior room, which is on the first floor. There was no upgrade booked to a ground floor, so therefore there was nothing for us to refund. We do apologize for the inconvenience you experienced during your stay, and it sounds like we should of communicated better. I will pass on the feedback to the team, so we can improve for any future occurrences. We truly value your feedback and are sorry your experience didn't reflect the high standards we aim for. Executive queen suite was both inviting and comfortable. The restaurant and bar offered a delicious scrumptious menu.

Totally enjoyed our stay at the Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel in an executive queen room. The swimming pool was cooling and inviting. Built in the shape of a crocodile, the hotel pool is the heart of the crocodile and perfect place to relax!

Not worth it at all!

The place is very dated and the service abysmal. The people at the front desk are not helpful and will redirect and tell you they are taking care of the problems/issues without doing so. Food is mediocre at best. The rooms smell of mold/mildew. Paint is peeling, furniture is worn. Room was not very clean. Housekeeping is minimal. Overall, incredibly disappointing. The hotel seems to get a pass since there are few options in Kakadu. However, this is one to avoid.

Great 3 night stay

We stayed here for 3 nights and stayed in a Courtyard Double Queen Bed Room # 140. Check in was quick & easy and Reception staff very pleasant. Our courtyard room opened up onto a little courtyard with a table and chairs with a little gate that led directly into the pool area which was very convenient after a hot day of exploring and hiking. The room was spacious and the tv had enough channels to watch. Internet was good. The bathroom was clean and tidy and like others have said is a bit out dated but perfectly fine. The only down fall i could say about the rooms is lack of power points to charge your phone iPads and or lap tops. I charged my phone and apple watch with my 2in1 apple charger in the bathroom each night. There is a mini fridge and a kettle and iron and ironing board in the room also. The linen and bath towels were clean and crisp and the beds and pillows very comfortable. The pool area was lovely with a lot of lounge chairs and it was nice that most of the chairs and pool were all under a shaded canopy to keep you out of the sun. I used the LG washing machines and did 2 loads. Cost $4 AUD per load and you pay with a credit card and they are located on the 2nd floor. They are hooked up to detergent already so you can't use your own if you bought your own like i did. The clothes came out clean and no lint or fluff. We got a chicken souvlaki yiros for lunch from the restaurant one day and shared it as it came with a side of fries also. Was awesome. Cost $24 AUD so not bad as it fed the 2 of us. There is a nice indoor sports bar area with lounges and high tables and stools to relax with a cold wine or beer and a TV on the wall to watch sports etc. We had two drink vouchers as i am an Accor Member so my husband used one for his tap beer and i couldn't use one as i had a Pinot Grigio which isn't covered with the voucher. A 250ml (large) Pinot Grigio cost $19 AUD. My husband used the 2nd voucher the next night for another beer. The restaurant had a nice selection of food and was on average $35-$50 for a main meal. Food was delicious. Plenty of free parking is also available and there were trolleys so you could load up your luggage and take it to your room making it much easier than carrying it all. The Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel is 2 levels and the 2nd level is accessible via stairs. I didn't notice any lifts anywhere so if you have mobility issues request a ground floor room. The motel is close to the Golf Club which we ate at 1 night as the bistro is only open Thu and Fri nights and the schnitzels were yummy. The IGA for groceries and the main centre of town is located very close also. Overall we had a pleasant stay, yes the rooms could do with a little updating as there is certainly enough room to do so but certainly fine for most people as mentioned earlier they were spacious and clean. Staff are very friendly and we enjoyed our stay. I would class the Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel a 3 star establishment which met all our needs. I would recommend booking early like i did as it is much cheaper than closer to your date of travel. I recommend staying here as it seemed to be the best by far from the choices you have
