My flight was canceled by the airline, and I was arriving a day late. When I asked the hotel if they could accommodate me by canceling one night's stay, they refused, showing a complete lack of empathy from the reservations department. The bathroom in my room had a lot of mold, and there were traces of feces on the walls. These two issues are minor. What shocked me most was the extremely rude attitude of the lobby staff. On the night of my check-out, I returned to the hotel to retrieve my backpack. When the bellboy uncle saw me outside the door preparing to enter, he immediately turned away instead of helping me open the door. After I entered the lobby and asked him to get my backpack, he glanced at his watch, then showed his displeasure. When he handed me the backpack, he showed another expression of displeasure. This was the first time in my life I had encountered such rude hotel staff. I do not recommend this hotel in Sabah. 航班被航空公司取消了,要遲一天才到達,詢問酒店能否酌情通融取消一晚,堅持拒絕,非常沒有同理心的訂房部。 房間的浴室大量黴菌,牆上還有糞便的痕跡。 以上兩件都是小事,最令我震驚的是,大堂職員態度極度惡劣,退房日子的晚上回酒店取回背包,bell boy uncle看到我在門外準備進酒店,立即掉頭離開而不是幫助開門,進入大堂後請他為我取背包,看一看手錶再展露不悅的表情,拿背包給我時再展露多一次不滿的表情,這是我人生的第一次遇到這麼態度惡劣的酒店職員。 不建議大家選這間沙巴酒店。

Here's my honest experience: - Shower and WC cubicle are very tight—barely enough space to move. - Bathroom has an open concept, which means zero privacy if you're sharing the room. - Soundproofing is average; you can hear hallway noise. - One of our rooms had no welcome amenities. - Room maintenance was poor—shower head was tied with wire. - Hanger placed on WC door, and hanger clips were damaged. - Laundry list was provided but no laundry bag. - Entrance door had to be kicked to open. - Pillow had a bad smell. - Good location—walking distance to tourist attractions and popular local restaurants. - Parking is on public side road. - Sidewalk tiles around the hotel are damaged. - Ceiling work was being done in the lobby during heavy checkout hours—should’ve been done at night. - Rooftop view is fantastic, both day and night. - Pool had too much chlorine. - Lost and found was well-handled and item was returned. - Shower room and bed head light bulbs were fused. - Main door card reader had issues—key card often didn’t work and had to be changed multiple times. - Privacy sign was out of order. Overall, great location and rooftop view, but serious issues with room maintenance, privacy, and basic amenities. Not the standard expected from a Mercure property.

We booked a "courtyard facing" room, which was a mistake. I didn't realise that courtyard means "wall view" So that room was very dark. Luckily, and maybe because we are Accor members, we could get another room, overlooking the jungle, which was fine. Thank you ! This room was bright and clean with a good, comfortabel bed. The bathroom and water pressure was very good. The odd thing in this room was that it is divided by a pillar in a bedroom and "living room" (a 2 seater couch and a writing desk. Fine, but the television is on the side of the pillar facing the couch, not the bed, so no watching t.v from the bed. I can't really imagine sitting on that couch watching a programme. But that may be a personal thing. Another "problem" is the fact that all the doors to the hotel rooms can only be closed by pushing them closed (not by handle) which makes a slamming noise. Which you can hear through the night. The location is great and there are beautiful views from the swimming pool area/rooftop. Overall, after reading all the negative reviews, I was absolutely not disappointed and found it better than expected.

Mercure hotel gave me a very very very bad experience even before checking in. The Asst Reservation Manager is very rude to the guest. Raise voice when guest is asking queries. During check in, front desk is not knowledgeable. They are unable to honour what was mentioned in the website e.g. complimentary in-room minibar, etc. Have to get the Duty Manager to intervene and sort things out. Some of the power plugs/sockets in the room are not working because the breaker trip due to short circuit due to water seepage. Not good. Hotel staff came into my room without pressing door bell or knocking. Was shock to see someone just barge into my room. What if i'm naked? Towel service at the pool area is poor. No towel available for more than 30 mins with no one around to assist. Was told housekeeping is getting the towels but 30 mins to get the towels? Really? Breakfast at the noodle station is another joke. The lady there really needs a lot of training. Ask for bean sprouts only without any noodles. She just gave me the bean sprouts without any broth or condiments. My friend told her he want mee hoon. 2 mins later he came back she only gave him mee hoon without any broth and condiments. Hotel layout and state is bad and poor. They really need to close down and have a major renovation. Gym layout is weird. They have like 4 small connected rooms to put the gym equipment. It's not an open space. Really weird. AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COST!

Booked 2 nights here because of its proximity to Jesselton Jetty, Suria Mall & Jalan Gaya night market, not disappointed in this respect. There are also 2 supermarkets & a coffee shop & restaurants nearby. Offered Executive Suite 602 but could not sleep well due to its facing a busy round-about and on the lower floor. Separated bedroom with a small living room, mini fridge with no kitchen. Next day, paid for an upgrade to One bedroom suite 63sqm, 1711 which has a real stove top & pot & frying pan. No cooking condiments, only plates, bowls & cutlery for 2. Facing the Jetty & the Sea, it was much quieter and we slept well on the huge comfy bed. Hotel has weird practice of not having hand wash liquid next to the kitchenette & bathroom basin! Room 602 aircon also not working well! Little or no sound proofing. Lobby is quite small and can be packed at 3pm. Gym on 24th needs to register with Reception in order to access - very troublesome! Pool on 25th has nice views but quite small, however, enough to do laps here. Advised to book a Sea facing higher floor room here, reject rooms on lower floors & no Executive suites 40sqmhere.
