Really disappointing experience - poorly maintained room and view of a brick wall

Other people seem to have had so much better experience than we did. I think we must have had the worst room in the hotel - tucked next to reception, with a view consisting of a brick wall from the neighbouring diggers club - easily the worst view I have ever had in a hotel room. The air conditioning for the hotel was just outside the window and could be heard even with the window closed. As for the room - the towel rail was damaged and fell off the wall when lightly touched, the toilet seat wasn't properly attached and slid around when you sat down, the shampoo/ shower gel in the shower was empty, the bed slid around the room when you got on it and the TV wasn't working. I don't like giving negative reviews - and I am genuinely happy that other people have had a better experience - but for us - a really disappointing stay - nowhere near 4* standard.

Convenient Location

Very comfortable bed and clean rooms. Handy to go into the adjacent Club for meals and/or entertainment. We have stayed here previously and always enjoyed the professionalism of Aaron and his team. However, must mention a Negative - Ibis Styles are now using ONE only bathroom amenity. The item in the shower is a 'Combined' Shampoo, Conditioner AND Body Wash. Considering the cost of the rooms, this is far from satisfactory for the brand. Most Disappointing and even though we are ACCOR Platinum members, we may re-think our next visit. Must haves are Separate Shampoo and Separate Conditioner.
