We were told that due to being a Saturday, there was not enough staff to do room survive! We found our room to be uncomfortably cold with no hearing option. Tv was only working on regular tv mode with no internet option as they are was currently a problem with the TV's. I asked for normal coffee as there was only decaf in our room, of course I had to go reception to complain as there was no room service! Eventually the poor girls who where on duty (who did everything they could to try and help us, but they where run off their feet) found me some normal coffee sachets but they had to hunt them down as they couldn't find any where they should have been. I have no issues with the two girls on duty, they did everything they could to help us. I was frozen, my husband and I where huddled under a blanket trying to keep warm! We eventually decided we had enough and chose to leave, the got to at the front desk was very understanding and apologetic and immediately said we could get a refund ( although we are still waiting for it to come through) Altogether a very disappointing experience

Staff were all genuine and friendly. Although it is evident the hotel caters for FIFO workers, the room did have a “male” odour and a bit of a squeeze, bed was comfortable and room clean, hallway carpet was very soiled by work boots. Would consider staying again simply due to your great staff. Had a quick meal and it was good.

We had booked a two night stay in your hotel for myself and my son as we had an early flight out of Mackay and back late that same night. When we arrived at 6pm, reception advises they had given us two electronic keys and to keep one key in the power slot as they air conditioning was running a bit slow so to keep it running. When we arrived in the room and I turned on the aircon it was showing 28 degrees over the next 5 hours instead of getting cooler the room was getting hotter and the degrees moved up to 29 degrees after both myself and my son sweating and overheating without having a fan, or open window and trying multiple times to readjust the aircon, I rang reception at 11pm to ask if there was any way to get the aircon to come down in temperature. Reception apologised and advised it was the whole hotel’s aircon that was broken and it was actually blowing out hot air and wouldn’t be fixed until the next day and they advised turning the aircon off completely. It was honestly the worst night in a hotel as we were so hot and had no fresh or cool air that we hardly slept at all. We then had to get up at 5:30am to board a flight. The reason we stayed at the hotel before the flight was so that we would get a good nights sleep before a big day of travelling and medical appointments. It was also written on a welcome card in the hotel room that thin pillows were provided in the wardrobe of each room as on the bed was very high firm pillows. There wasn’t any thin pillows as advised in the room and the high firm pillows are too high for my son to safely sleep on so I had to use a folded up sheet as a pillow (luckily it was so so hot we didn’t need any of the top sheets).

My husband and I stayed at the IBIS Mackay Airport for one night whilst on business in Mackay. We prefer to stay in Accor accommodation and didn't realise when we booked that it was at the Airport. The location didn't make a difference. The rooms were so quite and comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was clean. The parking was free. We ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. Breakfast was amazing! The staff were friendly. We really enjoyed our night and can understand why this Hotel has won so many tourism awards.

Staff were pleasant, the room was well insulated from noise, the beds were comfortable as well. The meals were delicious. The only negative experience I had was on a Thursday night when where there was only ONE person taking meals orders, serving drinks, cleaning tables, delivering meals to hotel rooms As well as bringing meals to the tables. This poor lady was totally stressed out! This caused many patrons waiting in line much frustration and found it unacceptable as others just ignored the situation. Ensuring you put on sufficient staff after 7:30pm will be a good idea.

Well with lift restrictions understandably at two people and only one lift working and the door keys not programmed properly it was annoying for everyone to finally get into the lift then cards not working.

The food variety has not changed in two years. The beds are uncomfortable. The aircon temp can not be changed in the rooms.
