Hotel is fabulous. Room was superb, spacious, clean and had all the amenities you could wish for. Breakfast was comprehensive and very good and there is a nice bar overlooking the centre. Location is ideal insofaras it's right in the centre. HOWEVER that was a massive problem for us and is the only reason I haven't rated it with 5 stars - there was a festival on in the area and there was extremely loud music playing outside the hotel until 5.30 am, yes 5.30 am, which meant we had no sleep at all and ruined our stay. Not the hotels fault but very annoying nonetheless.

A great hotel in the heart of the city

This is a fantastic hotel in the best location, right in the centre with shops, cafés and restaurants on the doorstep. Parking is in the adjacent Jaude B carpark and is just €10 for a one night stay, if you settle up at reception upon checkout. The rooms are really quiet and very comfortable indeed! We had the best night's sleep! There isn't a restaurant for dinner but the hotel offers some room service meals, such as pasta etc. This really wasn't an issue at all as there are plenty of restaurants in the area and hotel reception gave us a useful and clear list of all the restaurants open on a Sunday evening. We ate at Le Lion on the same road as the hotel and enjoyed our meal there. Breakfast is available at the hotel but we thought it was rather pricey so ate at the brasserie across the road. This suited our needs better and was good value (€7 per person for a coffee, glass of fresh orange juice and a huge pastry!). We have stayed at this hotel before and will certainly return again. The only downside is that it is in the city centre, so there's traffic to deal with, although this wasn't really a problem on a Sunday. We highly recommend this hotel!

Very enjoyable stay at the Mercure, Clermont-Ferrand

I had the most enjoyable 8 night stay at the Mercure in Clermont-Ferrand. My room had a very nice modern feel, and overlooked the Place de Jaude. Everything was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff asked me ahead of time if there was anything extra they could do for me. I explained to them I was traveling overnight to France from the states, and inquired if I could have a room available when I arrived. They said they would do the best they could, and when I arrived they had my room immediately available. After traveling 18 hours, and 3 flights later, having a room immediately available was the best feeling ever. The front desk staff were polite, and friendly. They explained how everything works at the hotel, and asked me to call the front desk should I need anything. Being from the states, safety is always a major concern for me. The front desk explained to me that no one can get to my floor without a room key, which you also need for the elevator to get to the floor your room is on. I felt very safe at this hotel. Breakfast, which was included in my stay, was amazing. Every breakfast item you can imagine, they had there. They had so many different types of coffee, and tea; it was unbelievable. The staff in the breakfast room were very polite, and eager to help you in any way. The breakfast room was very large, with plenty of tables, and comfortable seating, with a very inviting atmosphere. I looked forward to having breakfast there every morning. On my last day, the front desk staff had a taxi waiting for me at 5:30 am, very early in the morning, to take me to the airport. I could not have asked for more. If I had to think of one thing that I wish I could have had at the Mercure, it would have been to have a longer stay !

A big, modern hotel above a shopping centre very close to the town centre. It also has shared underground parking, which is a plus for a central hotel. All you would expect from a Mercure with everything clean, well organized and good check-in staff.

Great hotel, right in the centre of Clermont-Ferrand. With municipal parking under the hotel, it is very handy.

The reception team is fab, gave excellent parking instructions. On arrival, check-in was quick, with a very friendly feel. The hotel is new and modern, and situated right in the centre, walking distance to everything. Our room was clean, modern, and up to a typical Mecure standard. I say this, as our next stop was at a Mecure in Tours, was very disappointing.
