I chose to stay here because it wasn’t too costly and was convenient for walking to/from both the Brittany Ferries terminal and the main train station. It meets both those criteria but otherwise has little to recommend it. Very tired, lots of noise from the street outside, fixtures and fittings in poor shape. More positively, room (and bathroom) weren’t too cramped and the one staff member I met was very pleasant. OK for an economical one night stopover in transit but otherwise I reckon there must be better nearby alternatives and wonder whether/now the Accor chain sets and monitors standards for its properties. Ibis Styles seem, in my experience to be of very variable quality.

First of all the positives. The hotel is well situated just a few minutes walk from the main square. The breakfast is simple but good. And the man who seemed to run the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. However, the rooms are tired despite the claim of a refurbishment in 2020. My room smelt of sewers, and indeed the smell was stronger in the bathroom, but when I mention this to reception the lady really didn’t seem to care. My friends had different experiences but none of them felt they had a good room. A disappointment from the Ibis brand.

The staff was very welcoming and kind. The hotel is located at the right in city center. 15 minutes walk to the beach. The breakfast was copious. Although they don't have a private parkıng space, there are lots available spot in the avenue. It is free after 5:30pm and on Sundays.

This hotel is well-located, some of the staff members were very helpful and that's pretty much all the positive things I can think of. We had booked accommodation for a family of three. After our arrival we discovered that the sofabed had stained armrests (please see my attached photos) and that the ceiling lamp was missing a lampshade. There were also stains on the chair, poorly installed cables and some paint on the closet. We were tired, only stayed for one night and told the staff about these issues the morning we left. The staff informed me that they'd take care of these things and that was it. I submitted a review on the Accor website which triggered a short lukewarm standard apology. I simply do not comprehend how you can rent out a room in a state like this and why the quality assurance team of Accor accepts this type of subpar service. The hotel also has some major design flaws. The hotel lobby is unwelcoming at best, especially when the reception is closed. The elevator is tiny and only holds one person plus two large pieces of luggage. I understand that this is a UNESCO-protected neighbourhood, but if you cannot add a reasonably sized elevator you have to provide staff to assist guests with luggage to reach their rooms. According to staff the hotel cannot have A/C due to the UNESCO status. That's fine, but the balcony doors can only be fully closed or fully open. They were the only source for fresh air in our room. You cannot tilt or arrest them in a partially opened position. So if it rains on a warm day (like during our stay), you have to block the doors with luggage in a partially opened position to enable air circulation and keep the rain out. The hotel does not offer on-site paking but as we arrived late in the afternoon, we quickly found street parking just arround the corner.

If you ask us to help you for your luggages, we can do it. There is always one person available to help you in the hotel. We are in Normandy and we don't have several period of high temerature that why we don't have air conditionning and the building is classified : " patrimoine mondial de l'humanité par l'unesco" so we can't do the installation of air conditionning in any case. The location was excellent in centre. The room was fine but it along with the bathroom need updating. The photos on your site showed some really nice rooms but we were not offered one. The breakfast was good but the room looked nothing like the room shown in your site.
