We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of May/beginning of June 2024. We booked a Superior room and breakfast on both mornings. We had a number of issues with our room, no robes/slippers, lights not working, poor quality shower, etc all things that could have been fixed if the rooms had been properly serviced, checked and maintained before we checked in. Breakfast was chaotic on the Saturday morning with no plates, no glasses for juice (and no juice) and 2 young ladies on duty who were walking around like rabbits in headlights. There were lots of other customers including some non english that seemed to be dispairing at the lack of service. When Sean, one of the managers arrived, he apologised, took control of the breakfast and dealt with the issues in our room. (most of them at least). He also said he would arrange for the cost of our breakfast to be refunded. This was very kind of him and unexpected, however, I subsequently had to call the hotel 3 times about the refund and did not receive it until 21st June, 3 weeks after we checked out, hence the gesture of goodwill became an annoyance and irritating On the plus side, Richard the breakfast chef was excellent, very friendly and chatty (although he was clearly under pressure on both mornings). He was also very aware of what items were gluten free and made sure to avoid cross contamination. Well done and thank you Richard, a stand out asset to the hotel.

We have just return for a very nice few days at the Mercure hotel Milton Keynes and we’re very impressed. The room was very nice and we found all of the staff extremely helpful. We had very good food in the restaurant and the setting of the hotel was lovely. The only thing we couldn’t understand was the Hotel’s policy for servicing the rooms. The rooms are only serviced every three days, so as we were only there for 2 days we didn’t get our room serviced. We booked a four star hotel in order that things are done for us and that you are well looked after. We know that things have been difficult with staffing levels particularly after Brexit, but if we had wanted to look after ourselves we would have booked a self catering break, not a 4 star hotel and although we highly rate the hotel we sadly do not feel we could stay again as being looked after is precisely the reason you choose to stay in an hotel.

I stayed here on the 26/05/24 I had a pleasant stay until 9:15am when I returned to my room which I had until 12 noon to check out, on entering the room which still had my suitcase in and a do not disturb sign on the handle , I was overwhelmed by a chemical smell , I started coughing , I soon realised my breathing was being shut off and I could not breath, in a panic I ran to the stairs to find fresh air , where a member of staff found me gasping for air,she ran off to get water and left me behind to find a fire escape to get fresh air, on her return ,the manager arrived with her, but he wasn’t that concerned and while I was still struggling to breath he kept on saying weird comments and trying to give me offers of free bar etc, I was not offered any medical assistance or any procedure for exposure to the chemicals, The chemical use was PEST EXPERT FORMULA C,the was no warning on the door to the room stating do not enter! I did regain normal breathing , but the whole experience has left me shocked and scared, also I never got any personal apologies even thoughI left all my details at the reception , the response to the incident has left me disheartened by the way I was dealt with, no aftercare , all the manager was worried about was this review..

I travel to Milton Keynes often for work and always stay at the Mercure as its a great distance from my office. The rooms are always lovely and clean, the beds are super comfortable with lovely soft pillows and I love that the TVs have chromecast so you can easily watch things using your phone apps. The restaurant is always nice and clean, I normally have breakfast and it's really tasty with a great selection. The best thing about the mercure though is definitely the staff. Ahmed at reception is always so warm and welcoming, he always gives me a film suggestion for the evening and so far he hasn't failed me (the most recent being Million dollar baby which was fantastic). The bar and restaurant staff are also always really sweet. The cleaners are always hard at work in the mornings turning the rooms over and despite being busy they always make sure to stop and say hello. Thanks to everyone who works there for making my trips to the office worth it. 🥰

Solo traveller, 2 night stay in a superior room (I think?! Overlooked the golf course) My room was amazing, huge, lovely big bed, hydro bath, nice treats in the fridge, plus a big windowsill that I could sit in and look out to the golf course. Loved it. Dinner menu was disappointing, I’m a vegan and the website said vegans catered for but there was nothing on the menu, when I asked they said they could do alternatives to the veggie options but I wasn’t going to pay £17/18 for tomato pasta thank you! So I went for a wander, found the golf club cafe and had a really good dinner there. They had 3+ vegan options, at a golf club cafe. Breakfast was fine, I could eat but it there wasn’t loads of options. All staff were friendly and the front desk staff were lovely and helpful. I will be returning in October
