I would like to take a moment to recognize Anne-Marie at the reception desk of Hotel Ivoire. I arrived at a time of extreme busyness at the hotel due to a conference. Anne-Marie took the time to take care of me. She displayed patience as she wanted to go through all the steps to assure that I received my preferred room based on my history. She really made a difference in my stay as, thanks to her professionalism, I very much enjoyed my stay at the hotel.

There were elements of the stay that were OK but in general I'd never go back. Check in was fast and friendly. Hallway to room was really dirty, like it hadn't been swept or mopped in weeks. Room was small but OK at first glance. Wifi worked pretty well. Bed was very lumpy and uncomfortable. One of the big problems - no "do not disturb" signs or lights. Hotel staff walked in when I was in bed one night! Also, the balcony door did not close properly and did not lock. I would recommend for these reasons that female travelers avoid this hotel at all costs. Gym is a combo gym/sauna. It has no air conditioning at all, and no air flow at all, so it's up to 40C in there and totally uncomfortable. That's OK, however, because there's not enough equipment to get a workout and much of it is broken. So you won't spend much time in there anyway. Breakfast was OK but the staff would touch dirty stuff and then food (omelette station for example) which is not acceptable. Check out took a long time - looked like it was the first time he was doing it. The safety and security issues are a big problem for me. I won't go back.

After checking the security cameras, we confirmed that our housekeeping team member entered your room at 8:15 p.m. to perform the evening turndown service. The video clearly shows that he followed our standard operating procedures : he knocked several times, waited, and only entered after receiving no response. As there was no “Do Not Disturb” doorhanger sign displayed, he acted in full compliance with both our hotel policy and international hospitality standards. We do, however, sincerely regret that this situation made you feel uncomfortable, and we understand how unsettling it must have been. We will ensure our teams are even more attentive and sensitive in such circumstances. Please rest assured that the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of our guests remain our top priorities. The issues you raised regarding cleanliness, gym facilities, and breakfast service have also been shared with the relevant departments for immediate corrective action. We thank you again for your valuable feedback, which helps us continue improving our service, and we truly hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and provide you with a more pleasant experience. The staff in the restaurant downstairs and the pool were extremely welcoming! Although there weren't many veggie options, they went above and beyond to make sure I had a lovely meal. Service was great 👏🏿 All the pool staff was lovely and made feel at home.

The Sofitel has a very nice room and beautiful setting, a superb swimming pool, Alphonse Sahou for his attention to find me a vehicle when I arrive at the airport, also to Mrs. Adou Lucie always ready to bounce on my little worries in my room during my stay.
