Hugely over rated and over priced

For a luxury, 5 star resort it is very over priced. We booked a standard king bed villa and the room was very run down. Mould in bathrooms, alot of the cabinets insidr were falling apart, lots of bugs getting inside the room and the wall vented aircon made so much noise we couldnt use it as it kept us awake at night. We were advised on check in (not prior) that half of their amenities (tennis courts, spa, restraunt) were not in use or low in staff therefore alot of services were not available (including room service and turn down services). Had we known all of this information before hand, we would not have stayed. Not much to do on site, we found we spent little to no time at the resort as we had to venture out for food, entertainement etc. not sure we would rush back any time soon. Very dissapointed. *only good thing to note was the food at the restraunt when we finally got a table was delicious and wait staff were lovely*

Whether you are a local heading down for the weekend, an interstate or overseas tourist you’ll absolutely love this place. The chalets dot the dunes and lead you to the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, this pristine landscape will take your breath away. The property is a well-maintained facility that lends to its natural surroundings. Its ideal location allows the individual to explore the finest wine country in WA – Margaret river region, the quaint town of Dunsborough, Cape Naturaliste and so many other pretty places. The experience would not be complete without the stars of the show, they are the wonderful staff who are the true brand ambassadors of this property. The reservation and front office staff, at the helm Malcolm Braganza and his staff were excellent a special thank you goes to Rhihanon who made our booking and Lola who checked us in and Malcolm who made sure all our needs were met. THANK YOU. To Tara Kemp and her staff at the restaurant, you do well to keep the masses fed and happy. A special thank you to Pablo (Picasso), Nadia and the hardworking Selita. Keep it up its never easy running a packed house breakfast & dinner. The staff are the true brand ambassadors at this property. GREAT JOB KEEP IT UP.

Disappointing stay...

Prior to arrival, I had pre-ordered a bottle of Moet, a platter and cake for my husband’s birthday. I was advised on checking in that everything I had pre-ordered would be in our room. However there was no cake. The ham on the platter was anemic and was off thus unable to be eaten which put a damper on the whole platter. Our room was filthy, full of cobwebs, sticky floors, not swept or mopped, dusty, dirty bathrooms, makeup on counters, hair combs under beds, hair clips on furniture and even a medicare care on the floor of our room. I spoke to Brooke (lady who checked us in) about the state of our room and the fact that we had to clean this ourselves, the items we found and the ham. She apologised and said she would have the room cleaned (which was the next day) and another platter sent to us. I asked about the cake. She said that she couldn't charge us the $80 for it as it looked terrible. It was sitting on a low desk close to the floor in an office uncovered, it did not resemble a cake at all, and the writing read (Jaccy and not Garry) as requested. She said we could still have it for free. It was meant to have candles and was a surprise for my husband. We asked for it to be delivered which it was - all the way from reception uncovered… We cut it only to discover it was just a giant brownie and not actually a chocolate cake as per the order. The entire complex is filthy. The floors were not swept/mopped at all during our 5 night stay as the same food / broken glass etc remained in place throughout the restaurant and alfresco areas. I told two people on four occasions the hand sanitiser was empty and not one of them filled it - not to mention the holder was covered in spider webs. The dining chairs are stained, the material is torn underneath, and we had chipped furniture in our villa.... Our room was cleaned the next day by a lady called Sally who said that the room was disgraceful and agreed it had not been cleaned. We were offered a change of rooms, but I declined given Sally had cleaned ours and I couldn't be guaranteed the next would be clean... She was told our room had been an out-of-service room. On complaining again the following day the manager in charge (Lola), offered me a complimentary dinner - it was meant to be two, but she failed to come through with the second offer of dinner. I had her smell the ham and the look on her face agreed it was off. She said she would advise the kitchen. We did have the platter, cake and champagne charges waived. My husband used the blanket from the wardrobe on the last night of our stay and woke covered in bites all over his body. The majority of staff were rude, appear to be inexperienced and it feels like the place is being run by children. Nothing is clean. Staff are running around in sneakers in the restaurant and bar - I would expect to see black dress pants and black dress shoes for a 5-star place. Most were on their phones and there was always a wait to get someone to serve you. I cannot eat gluten and to find out what was gluten-free was just painful. The menus online are not what is available. I had to wait over ten minutes each morning just to get some gluten free bread. Two positives: - Ivo – Bar & Restaurant Manager. Impeccable presentation and service. If only all staff were dressed this way and conducted themselves in a professional manner as Ivo did. - Sally – our room cleaner. She was thorough and looked after our room Mon-Wed. It was a pleasure coming back to a clean room after she had been – thank you. Such a disappointment overall. Your own welcome letter clearly states that “due to the covid-19 pandemic, we have elevated our cleaning and hygiene processes even further…” a statement I find they are not able to deliver or stand by.

The team at Pullman have been nothing short of amazing. Been here many times over the years and definitely more to come. My family and I were there this time with 3 other families in Sep and the reservations team (shout out to Rhiannon) was superb and helped us sort out our booking changes as our big travel group had various changes over time. We were met with excellent service throughout our stay. Natalino in particular had been very helpful in sorting out our dinner plans and also been very attentive to our group’s needs. It was an extremely positive experience to see him whiz around during dinner service serving food in the restaurant packed full of people (keeping the children at our table entertained as well :) ) and to see the same face full smiles the next morning. I’ve always like the villas - high ceilings and spacious common area for families to gather. The kitchen is also well equipped for all cooking needs. The property also impressed our friends who joined us from various other lodgings with comparable prices. This is the first time I am visiting in September during the whale watching season and I saw a whale jumped out of the ocean while having my coffee at the open breakfast area (sorry for shocking the other guests around me with my mini scream). Best whale sighting ever, compared to the tail flips i see on paid trips out to the sea. We also had Pierre helped us follow up on some clarifications post our stay and got them sorted out all proper. The resort has an awesome team and the vibes set right for our group holiday post covid restrictions. Hope to be back soon to make more good memories!

Where do I start. The staff are anything but enthusiastic about having guests. The breakfast is equivalent to that of a 70s motel. The food menu is anything but five star, for example the spaghetti marinara comes out with Parmesan. The resort is milking COVID. They are using the Covid as a reason that they are understaffed for not cleaning rooms. You don’t get any compensation for not having your rooms cleaned or the fact that they can’t staff the restaurant for multiple sittings in one night. It’s was a clear disappointment staying here after waiting since 2019 to have this holiday. Beware others staying here at the exorbitant price being asked, it is not a five star experience.
