The room is small and comfy with a tiny window but clean. Aircondition does not work well in March; I guess it is a moderately cool night outside in the tropic mountain at 21c. Buffet dinner at the hotel has many varieties but mostly local dishes; western choices are limited. Breakfast is ample and standard; nothing special to mention. Hotel service is minimal with a shortage of staff who can communicate in English. After sunset, the whole hill is peaceful with less number of day trip travelers. There is an outdoor beer garden that plays local and regional funky dance music till late at night if you care to join. Stay over for a second night, I'm sure would be boring.
Hit and miss. Good service from staff, great indoor pool. Tired looking hotel with repair and maintenance work required.

This is the only hotel at Bana Hills, so the high price is expected. Check in at the base of the hill and at the hotel was quick and the staff were pleasant. We were assigned a room at the furthest end of the village, and unfortunately, the power in the room was down. I had to go all the way back to the main building to inform them. They sent a team to rectify pretty quickly though. We used the indoor heated pool in the evening and it was really great, however the shower area within the pool was disappointing. Flooded floors, lack of benches, and spoilt hairdryers. The pool and restaurants close at 9pm so we only had the option of in room dining. Food was obviously leftovers from the buffet and certainly not worth the hefty price. After an unsatisfying dinner, we didn’t have high hopes for the buffet breakfast, but fortunately, it was better than expected. There was a wide variety of quality food. Checkout was straightforward and the bellboys do help to bring the luggage all the way to the cable car. In a nutshell, the staff do their best but the letdown is the upkeep of the hotel. It’s a little dated and could do with a fresh coat of paint in the rooms; and replacement of furnitures and amenities (especially in the pool toilet). Also, avoid in room dining if possible. Have a quick early dinner before you enjoy the pool. 1 night is enough.
A fairly good experience at Mecure Hotel French Village

Stayed a night at Mecure French Village. There was a dedicated cable car service for hotel guests from the bottom of the hill to the top. As such, we need not have to queue with the large numbers of day visitors. The staff were helpful, friendly and spoke English. The hotel rooms were quite small but the bed was comfortable. I was allocated a room on the fourth floor. But strangely, the lift only serviced 3 floors. The breakfast spread was excellent and we enjoyed it very much. The ambience was great.

As this is my 1st time staying in Mercure BaNa Hills, the instruction to get to the Toc Tien cable car station but there is a gap in information on how to reach it from the carpark. Nothing on the Booking.com website or Accor website. The day prior to the checkin, I got a receptionist in another hotel to call the local no. given but got no answer. I left an email and there was a prompt reply the next day. Thankfully, a fellow TA put in a detailed description of what to do, I followed and found my way to the cable car station. Otherwise, we would have hopped on the French Village shuttle bus and end up paying far more for our cable car ride. This was a jittery start. The hotel shuttle pickup and assistance by the bellhop was prompt and efficient. The hotel room was quaint and the main building decor perfect. The staff at the reception were fluent in English and more helpful. I would prefer that the checkout process was better. We took the cable car to the TocTien cable car station. Then we were told there is no shuttle to bring us back to the carpark area. As we did not inform the driver of this, he waited an hour at the carpark until the bellhop helped to explain to him over the phone. I think such information should be relayed to guests.
