Dishonest, untrustworthy - Caveat Emptor

Unfortunately, my flight was cancelled due to the extreme weather. I contact Mecure as soon as I was aware and was told that I would receive a refund, which stopped me seeking alternative travel arrangements. As it transpires, this goes against the hotels terms and conditions, so despite being told twice not to worry and I could rebook in January - the hotel refuses to honour this and hides behind it terms. Forgetting that I may have still travelled by car had I been told honestly that a refund would not be possible. Feels like they knew that this would be the case and simply wanted to keep the funds without providing a service Caveat Emptor!!

Very basic hotel that needs a refurbishment.

This hotel is in desperate need of a refurbishment. It clearly shows its age. The rooms are very basic. The bathroom was clean but old. The breakfast was the worst part. Poor quality products served on cold plates. The seating was in a very poor state. Scuffed leather seats. Sticky tables. The staff were friendly and it has a good location to the town and train station.

The hotel doesn't look at notes head offices send them, we booked for december in April, a disabled privilege room, what we got firstly was a non disabled privilege room, when we complained they put us in a disabled room, which wasn't a privilege room, and had a bath and only one hand rail for toilet. Having complained about the fact my partner couldn't get into a bath and we had paid for a privilege room, the manager gave us the difference between a standard and privilege room. The receptionist told us they don't look at notes from head office, well maybe they should start to, not good enough.

Fantastic Location!

Ok - we have to admit, we probably aren't your average visitors to Inverness as we really had no interest in going to see the lake (Loch Ness). but we loved the hotel and its central location was so valuable. We were doing everything by train around Scotland so we were very happy to find this hotel is basically one block walk from the train station but you wouldn't know it from the hotel. The Mercure is literally right in the middle of "downtown" Inverness and we were able to walk to so many things we wanted to see. It doesn't look like anything that would draw you in from the outside but we enjoyed the interior including the gold railing staircase from the main floor to the second floor. We especially loved the breakfast dining area with a gorgeous view of the river Ness. In fact the breakfast itself was fantastic - buffet style with lots of choices but we really, really loved making our own fresh squeezed orange juice every morning....so good! I have to admit the room itself was a little smaller than we would have liked with only about two feet from the end of the bed to the wall to walk past but we were out walking and sight seeing so much we really didn't care when we got back to the room - just crashing and sleeping for the most part. It also had all we really needed anyways so nothing to really complain about. We also loved it was so close to some awesome restaurants, Leaky's bookstore, the castle and, my favourite, the candy shop! The staff were also very attentive and helpful. the only thing I did struggle with was the lack of a mini-fridge in the room since I have a med that has to stay cold (a common thing we found at several hotels on this trip) but the staff were able to keep it safe in a hotel fridge and I was able to access it when I needed. The bottom line is - we enjoyed our stay here!

Comfortable stay in the heart of Inverness

My wife and I spent two (2) nights, with our tour group, at the Mercure Inverness Hotel and were very pleases with our stay. The room was comfortable and well appointed. What was interesting were the ear plugs provided by the hotel. The location sits near the River Ness which is situated in a congested area of nightclubs and pubs. We stayed mid-week without any issues. My guess is the area gets quiet rowdy and noisy on weekend nights The restaurant is good. The morning continental breakfast was fine. Overall, we enjoyed our time at the hotel,
