Comfortable, located just off the motorway, but needs a refurbishment

I stayed here for one night in December 2025. I chose this hotel as it was on the way to where I needed to be the next day and I didn't want to face the traffic driving into central Bristol. The hotel is located on the outskirts of the city in a rural setting and is not far from the M4. There is an Aldi supermarket a couple of miles from the hotel. The hotel has a large carpark. The hotel is fine and somewhat elegant but is starting to show its age. The first impression is that the driveway has several potholes (that should be easy to fix!) and the interior of the hotel would benefit from a refurbishment, eg new paint, carpet etc. There are several lounge areas good for having a drink and relaxing. I can see that this would be a good venue for a corporate retreat, wedding etc. The dinner menu was varied and the breakfast was fine, ie a good selection of cold items and a cooked breakfast available.

The first “Privelidge” room key I got had blood on the sheets when I pulled the douvet back to air the bed there was blood on the sheet with hair in the bed! I was thankfully moved to another room the next day after a long day at work to find the room had not been refreshed. The staff on the reception have been superb in dealing with the issues but I need to say it’s just acceptable and management need to act swiftly…….. I’ll let you make your own decision.

We are genuinely sorry for the discomfort and frustration this caused. While we’re glad our reception team supported you promptly and professionally, it’s clear that the follow-up room not being refreshed only added to the inconvenience after a long day at work. This is not the experience we want any of our guests to have. Het is al een ervaring om het hotel te naderen over de lange oprijlaan. Het hotel ziet er uitnodigend uit aan de buitenkant. we hadden een hele fijne ruime kamer, met hemelbed en bankstel. Het personeel was heel vriendelijk. Het eten in het restaurant was heerlijk.
