I've just celebrated my 60th birthday with a party in the fabulous City Suite Room at the MERCURE NORWICH. From start to finish the whole experience was a joy; from booking that large beautiful room in the first instance, to the party itself and then staying overnight in the hotel, with breakfast the following morning, everything was just wonderful. The Events Manager, Gill, is so friendly and enthusiastic about giving people the best experience. Her suggestions and ideas were helpful and very welcome, and she was so reassuring when I feared no-one would turn up. I've had numerous party guests tell me they had a brilliant time, and lots of comments about what a terrific venue it is. The City Suite room itself was set up beautifully by the staff, fairy lights on the walls, balloons on the tables. It's got a large dance floor and a stage where I had a live band, as well as the resident DJ who did an excellent job. He was more than happy for me to give him a preferred playlist. The buffet food surpassed all expectations and was great - we had lots of comments about how good the food was. As for breakfast, well I hadn't been expecting much (my experience of other hotels) but that was excellent too. It was so good to have breakfast with the party guests who had stayed over in the hotel. What a unique experience the whole thing was. I'd like to thank all the staff for their hard work and attention to detail: to the catering staff for the wonderful food, to the DJ, the bar staff and especially to Gill because your enthusiasm and general loveliness of temperament really made all the planning part of the fun. I booked a room for my 50th birthday party on 6th July, and have to say i wasn't disappointed. Gill the events organizer, guided me through the booking, and made sure i got everything i wanted. I also met with the head chef - Angie as we had some dietary needs, and she was very knowledgeable about allergies, and was happy to guide me to suitable buffet foods.. When we arrived the room was set up beautifully, and the bar team - Chloe and Craig welcomed us, and assisted us with setting up my cakes. We had a wonderful evening, the buffet was fantastic, and the staff members, really made me and my family feel special , Thank you so much Gill, Angie, and the team, will defo book our next family event with you. xxx

Stayed here for a 50th birthday celebration and the service was absolutely brilliant. Staff was so helpful and attentive to our dietary need for the buffet at the party. Bar staff Craig and Chloe was so helpful and done a fab job looking after us all.Rooms were very nice and comfortable felt very relax. All staff members who were working the whole weekend were very helpful and friendly. Great team all round.

I stayed at the Mecure Hotel on a business trip as it has perfect access to the city. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. They have a great breakfast on which was always hot and fresh. I would definitely stay again. Thanks!

A basic hotel room clean with everything we needed. Breakfast let it down. Cooked food looked as if it had been left under the lights for ages Bacon inedible fried eggs like bullets.Ran out of butter on first day of our stay and cold food looked awful. Second day had to ask for bacon to be cooked so that I could eat it. Still no butter told that it hadn't been delivered but when I complained miraculously a load of butter appeared.. Also told cold food had all been eaten the day before. I know this was not true as I personally was the last person in breakfast room and it was exactly the same then. A couple of ladies who were staying for a week told me they were so disappointed that they went to asda and bought butter
