The resort is something out of the 80's, run down and requires an major upgrade. At best its 3 star and that's a push. Majority of the staff are untrained and rude. Breakfast is like a zoo and food offering is not much better. Best thing we did was the light show, island highlights tour and cruise.. but the rooms and resort require a major overhaul.. If you like 3 star accommodation, food and service, this is the place for you...

We took the kids stay free-package for 5 nights which wasn't value for money especially in terms of food. Each kids meal are only provided per paying adult. Choice of meals doesn't change between the restaurants and although the resort stated they cater for food allergies this was quite the opposite. The miss-communication by staff and management was quite difficult to get clear answers and frustrating regarding activities (what was included) and the service by the wait staff was, at times, quite rude. Accommodation was of good standard. Beauty spot tour was great. Illumani show was wonderful.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Kingfisher bay resort on K'Gari, we had 3 nights which worked out perfect as we got the early ferry on the first day and had a relaxing time by the pool, we also did the Beauty tour which was great with a fantastic guide called Peter who made the trip entertaining as well as informative, also the Illumina show was incredible definitely better than any expectations we had of what it would be like we highly recommend this show its spectacular from start to the end, the music with it and the story behind the light show also made it beautiful.
