The room was clean and had everything we needed - including a fan as this was a very warm weekend. The pool facilities were great. Used the local bus link to travel into Newcastle, which is only a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

We paid approx £1700 for our wedding celebration - unfortunately a lot of guests did not turn up because of various reasons the hotel decided just to waste all of the food that we had paid for did not ask us what we wanted doing with it never even told us they were shutting the buffet. Tried to charge early book in fees after arranging the early book ins for long distance family travelling - lack of communication. We were told to go and see the room we had booked , had to wait in reception for someone to show us for over 45 mins while we were totally ignored - the customer care at reception in totally unacceptable they are totally understaffed. There was a big event on that weekend and one girl on reception trying to do her best. Avoid at all costs!!

Took my money for a Spa treatment on a day the spa was closed. Now not refunding.

I booked a spa treatment as part of a family vacation at the hotel. I booked and paid in advance (several days in advance!!). When I arrived for my treatment, I was told the Spa was closed. I have requested my refund three times and they have not given my money back!!

Nice stay but room was different to photo!

We booked directly with the hotel. Email confirmed that we would get a superior privilege room. The photo showed a beautiful picture of a lovely room, sofa bed and looked fab. However on arrival we got a privilege room with no sofa, as shown on our email. The staff seemed bemused but thankfully Alex sorted things out. He couldn’t do enough for us and really looked after us when we the Carter and Finch restaurant. The food, service and drinks were amazing. As well as training a new member of staff, he was in complete control of a very busy restaurant. Good idea to have some specials like 2 steaks for £30 on Saturdays. Breakfast was in the Orangery and we enjoyed the hot buffet, coffee, pastries, fruit and yogurts. Spa is also worth a visit with a steam room, small sauna and small pool. We enjoyed our stay despite the room issue.

Speedy check in and friendly reception staff. Big room booked and it didn't disappoint. Big comfy bed and overall room preparation spot on by Danielle. Thanks Danielle. Good pub grub and freshly made pizza in the restraunt. Plenty parking and a good comfortable stay. Only minor point is the noise from the kitchen extractors does go on into the night. Closed the windows and bumped up the air con, nice. Would recommend.
