Room flooded with rain

The location is fantastic, which almost next to train station. Super convenience for traveler like us who has big luggages. Whereas the services was disappointed. We couldn't neither know the window in room was able to open. Most of the time, we went out in morning and return at night. The second day was a raining day. By the time we back to hotel, the both window wide opened and rain wet not only desk but to the whole floor. With the room located in 1st floor, we were thankful that nobody climb in to steal anything. Yet, when i complained to reception. They accused us for open the window when we weren't even know it can open. Then asked for housekeeping to clean the room, the rain was almost half of the room. To another disappointment, there were nobody after half an hour. Ended up, we had to went down reception and took 2 towels to clean by ourselve. Those 2 towels not even enough dried the room! It was terrible to get such unapologetic response from front office and nobody care the mess someone from hotel left behind. I can imagine if this opened window incident were turn out to be someone break in to steal our stuff, nobody will care about this too.

I stayed in many different Ibis budget and this one was no different. It is next to the shopping mall and train station. Location wise for me it is more than acceptable. The rooms are same and normal. I can not complain. People are super friendly and helpful by all means. Price could be a little bit lower but overall it was good 4 nights.

This is a budget hotel and for that it is fine. There is a relaxed, fun atmosphere and style to the property which is nice. Service was friendly and bilingual which was fantastic. Rooms are small and clean. Very basic, with no amenities and a modular shower. Unfortunately the room rate I had to pay (Lyon was very busy) pushed my stay into another category where this property did not align. I would stay again but only for the right price.

Cheap hotel in the city centre with excellent tram and train links.

The Ibis Budget Gare Part Dieu is extremely convenient for the station as it is right next door. The concierge on the desk was very friendly and spoke both French and English which was helpful for me and my family. In reception, there was two jugs of mineral water and a coffee machine which was working smoothly. Our family room was on the 9th floor and it consisted of a double bed, a single bunk above the double bed, a toilet, a separate sink, a television, and a desk. The single bed was not made as you were given a bag containing a pillow, a sheet, and a duvet to set up yourself, however the bed did not take long to make. The one issue we had was that the towels were thin and small so they were not the most useful and also there was no hair dryer, kettle, or clothing storage space as well.

Less then basic & rude staff

As a budget hotel it's obviously basic. But unfortunately as others have pointed out the breakfast staff are rude.. First day I went to the breakfast "buffet" and was left quite disappointed. There are no cooked items available just breads, yoghurts, cereals and raw eggs for you to boil. After being told by staff to put my items back on the tray not on the table, I then witnessed one of the breakfast staff just wandering around the dining area doing nothing which makes no sense as to why we're not allowed to use the tables? She could have been wiping the tables instead of wasting time? They also have nothing to do except dishes ( which we have to empty all leftovers and rubbish into the bin and put it all on the racks so they don't do any tidying ) and top up breads milk etc.. I also then saw the receptionist taking her glass into the dining area to refill with juice but as she did she spilt leftover juice over the dividing wall, stopped, looked at it and kept on walking.. Overall if you want budget / basic with rude staff then go here..
