Old, dirty hotel with new paint, avoid it! There is another Novotel in the center which is way better,l. Unfortunately that was soled out so we chose for this hotel, but because of the dirtiness our stay was very disappointing!

We stayed for 4 nights. Excellent tram service into Bordeaux directly outside the hotel. Hotel lovely and clean. You have to book with reception if you want your room cleaning and refreshing. This is not necessarily done in the morning. Breakfast had a good choice and we enjoyed the selection. However, we found that the staff started to clear the food about 10 to 15 minutes prior to the end of serving. Would definitely stay again. Staff extremely friendly and helpful.

Good, tidy hotel, friendly staff, excellent breakfast and nice bar area. Easy walk into Bordeaux. Good location, with an easy walk into Bordeaux centre. Good underground parking. Very good breakfast and nice lounge / bar area. There were closed access roads, it would have been easier if the hotel had sent a message to warn that local road works have closed off some of the streets to the hotel.

Unfortunately, I cannot say that my experience at your hotel was a good one for the following reasons: 1. Upon check in, I had to remind the receptionist 3 times to talk to me in english. I do not understand french. 2. We were a group of 4, 2 rooms, and in the evening upon return from dinner, we asked the receptionist whether there is a tourist hop on hop off bus in Bordeaux. She could not reply. She did not know. I expect that a receptionist in a 4 star hotel should be able to answer such a question. 3. I do not think that a receptionist in a 4 star hotel should do the job of a receptionist and bar maid. She was actually doing both jobs at the same time. 4. We had a terrible first night. The A/C did not work. We ended up with really dry and soar eyes. When I complained at the receptionist the following day, the front office manager informed us that the A/C system of the entire hotel is not working. As a compensation. she offered us free breakfast. We declined because we do not prefer to eat much in the morning. Then, after discussing this with the manager, she offered us a discount of euro 100 per room. We found this reasonable and were happy. We slept the remaining 2 nights with the window open and although a bit noisy, at least the room was not terribly hot. Despite this promise however, and after I send by email my bank details, I still have not received these euro 200. 5. At check in, I was asked to leave a deposit of euro 70. I did so by means of my bank card. Today, one week after check out, I still have not received this deposit back. I have stayed in may hotels in my life but as far as I am aware, such a deposit is only blocked on the account and not really paid. I did call the hotel 2 days ago and the person that answered my call said that the euro 200 cannot be paid to me. I said that it was promised but she said that she will discuss and come back to me. So far I heard nothing. For the above reasons, I am extremely disappointed and will not recommend novotel to any one. I also intend to make more negative reviews about your hotel in other spheres.
