Hot stay, rude staff and poor COVID safety

If you read the reviews, I was surprised that they also had other guests also notice that the management blames the guests if there is an issue with the staff. I wish we read the reviews before our stay. We were blamed because they turned off the AC in the rooms to save money (the rooms were cooking hot) and it was apparently our fault we were hot... The staff are quite dangerous. They will engage in shouting matches with you in the lobby if you complain about anything from a hot room and to their limited breakfast options (this was the only hotel on the stay that did not have gluten-free or vegan options and we stayed at 6 Ibis hotels). We are in the process of charging back our stay to the hotel through our credit card because the manager refuses to answer any emails complaining about our stay. We found our stay and interactions with their staff quite dangerous for both our health and our safety in France. Furthermore, their COVID safety and customer service is quite dangerous to other guests. They asked us to remove our masks twice when talking with them. We actually video taped the staff and their behaviour because we were concerned they may call the police on us.

We are sorry to read your comment regarding this incident and we apologize for any distress this may have caused you However we are a little bit surprised by reading it : 1/You mentionned the using of a video record on your mail, we are deeply shocked by this practice so much so that the receptionist reserves the right to go the police station in NICE to file a complaint in connection with this practice totally prohibited in France. 2/A point has been made with the receptionnist on duty during your stay ; for him, there was no aggressiveness in his remarks, only misunderstanding between you and him. We are very sorry about it. 3/You asked for a total refund of your stay during the check out time. He was not allowed to do it on his own, this is the reason why he asked you to write an e-mail explaining your unsatisfaction. 4/Furthermore, he asked you to remove your mask only to better understand your request as sometimes it can be difficult to properly understand themselves in a foreign language. 5/Concerning the temperature of your room, we do not understand why you didn’t contact the reception during your stay as our team is on duty 24h a day. By letting us know on time, our team would have been able to offer you a solution. A point has been made by our technician team in your room and no malfunction related to this point were noted as 21°c is a standard one. Finally, you are probably aware that we have a new law in France since a few weeks related to energy sobriety. This one prohibits us from certain practices in energy management at certain times of the year. There is no airconditonning available in November in all NICE. In conclusion, we are deeply sorry but we dispute all these facts. Indeed, You will explain to the readers of this review why you want to dispute the bank transaction since the establishment does not give you your case. Accor customer service has been informed of your behavior. Therefore, we ask you to stop all intimidation and remind you that we reserve the right to file a complaint with the French authorities for intimidation and credit card fraud. Best regards, C. EVEN

We checked in to 2 rooms and asked for a very late check out the next day at 16:00 and they staff were very helpful in arranging this. You can pay for parking in the underground park and have full use of it for 24 hours, so that you can come. and go as you wish. The rooms are not huge but they have everything you need, clean, comfy beds, good quiet AC and you don't here the nearby airport. Whilst the breakfast was perfectly good , it was a complete rammy to get it and some coffee and not much space to sit down and enjoy it. I would have given 4 stars if not for the breakfast situation.

The location is good, if you want easy access to the airport but to the old town and down town where are the turist atractions, is a bit far. You have to take the tram, which stop is very close to the hotel . The hotel is very simple. The breakfast staff was very effective and some of the day staff were nice but the evening/night team worked like they were doing us a favor. The bed was comfortable but they didn't change the bedsheets the whole week we were there. There was dust on the furnitures and old dirty on the scuffes front. The worse was the glasses and cups that were not clean at all! That was on Saturday and Sunday evening, when I tried and didn't find a single cup clean, neither a glass. They were badly washed, some of them still had rest of coffee. Saturday around 2 am there was fire alarm. Everybody had woke up with the loud sound and had to come down to the reception. Some people took the elevator/lift. I don't remember if there was advice to not take the lift in case of fire. At the reception it smelled of burnt food. A positive thing : they cleaned the swimming pool every day!

Regarding your comment about the cleanliness in your room and during your breakfast time, we are sorry about it and a point will be made with the teams to prevent future events during next stay. Futhermore, our location is in a business area with plenty of new building. The old town is also reachable by tramway from the hotel to place Massena in about 20 minutes. The CAP 3000 commercial center with more than 300 shops and restaurants is also reachable by bus or train in about 10 minutes. For reminder, there is tramway stop called Parc Phoenix located 100 meters away for 1.50€ per person available from 6am until midnight every 10 minutes. Finally, we are located at only 3 stops away from the airport, so very close of the Airport. CANNES, ANTIBES and MONACO are also reachable by the small station NICE SAINT AUGUSTIN in 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel. So in conclusion, this is the place to be for many reasons corresponding to the majority of ou customers and spend very good time on the French Riviera. Best regards. I'll start with the negatives, as they are very minor. The pillows and mattress were too soft for our tastes. There were spare pillows, which we were hoping would be firm, but these were also soft. My wife ended up using her travel neck pillow! Also the breakfast was a bit limited, but we knew this upon booking. The positives: Clean and modern. An airport hotel having an outside pool was a lovely touch. We spent a couple hours by the pool enjoying the sun. Obviously the location being close to the airport was convenient, but also a couple hundred metres away from a tram stop (parc phoenix) allowed easy access into Nice. Staff were all polite and friendly. The coffee machine by reception was free at all times, and there were also free pastries on offer at all times. We stayed in room 615 which I can recommend, as you could just about see the sea, and were far away from the lifts. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
