Platinum Status is Meaningless Here – Accor Chooses Money Over Loyalty

As a Platinum Accor member, I do not expect entitlements, but I do expect effort. My recent experience at Novotel Pune Nagar Road proved that loyalty holds zero value here compared to competitors like ITC or Marriott. ​My request for an early check-in was met with a rigid, transactional refusal by Manshi Sharma. There was no attempt to accommodate, no offer of a waitlist, and shockingly, not even a suggestion of a special half-day rate to bridge the gap. It was a flat denial with zero empathy for a loyalist's situation. ​This lack of empowerment and hospitality points directly to a failure in leadership. General Manager Anant Leekha has evidently fostered a culture where adherence to policy supersedes guest satisfaction. It is abundantly clear that for Accor—and specifically this management team—short-term revenue is prioritized over long-term loyalty. ​At Marriott or ITC, elite status is a relationship; at this property, it is treated as a burden. If you value your status, stay elsewhere.
