This hotel needs to learn a lot about customer experience. We arrived from our trip at 9PM and soon we were surprised by a huge queue to check-in. but that wasn't a bad thing compared to what happened right after. After an hour of waiting in line, we finally sat down in the hotel's restaurant to eat before bed. When asking for the bill, the waitress rudely replied that there was a row of 3 tables in front of us. We waited for another 20 minutes or so as we watched her talking to other employees, stapling papers, etc. Tired, we asked again if we could pay, and she ironically and mockingly said no, as there were still tables in the front and we would have to wait, also refusing to allow the bill to be charged to our room. The “luck” was that, seeing our dissatisfaction, other waitresses were willing to charge our bill. When asking for the name of the employee in question to put on TripAdvisor, we were surprised by the information that she is simply the hotel MANAGER. Never in our lives have we known a person so RUDE and so unsuitable for the position he holds. The feeling we had is that she was xenophobic because we are Brazilians.

Price, cleaning, room, dinner was excellent, the only thing that the hotel needs to improve is in training more the personal in the reception and in the restaurant of the hotel. The service in the reception was excellent, I explain to the receptionist that I need to pay the charge related to bring my little dog with me, and the receptionist answer me that everything was ok, today the hotel sent me an email requesting my credit card information to pay this, when I advise at the moment of my arrival about this, why they need that I share my card details by email to somebody I don't know. The other point that need to improve are the personal in the restaurant, you need to be requesting everything all the time, to see which waitress can take you note, bring the bill, assigne a place etc. All the other things was excellent, the room was very clean and comfortable.

Inconsiderate catering manager at breakfast and dinner

Unnice catering German lady manager that shuts down the restaurant and cramps everyone who wants to eat at a tiny area near check in. Reason of restaurant closure is covid risk but cramping people into a 5m x 5m area is much more so. The same manager also told me and my small children when we arrived 10.15am due to plane arrival (breakfast closes hard at 10am , not 10.30am) that we would have no food , we cannot order ala carte breakfast and asks us to come back at 6pm if we want food. Pls note there is no food around this hotel area. I thought what this breakfast manager treated us was uncivilised and inhuman that you would not expect in a Novotel , a hotel in Munich and an airport hotel. The Indonesian lady at breakfast was a delight and we felt she was the one who treated us humanly.

Dear JennieC391, Thank you for have chosen our Novotel for your stay at the Munich Airport and also for this review of your experiences. I apologize, that your expectations were not meet especially in our restaurant during your visit. The hotel management with our General Manager have decided not to open the main restaurant for the past months. This has nothing to do with the risk of the pandemic, but simply that we do not have enough staff to serve such a large restaurant at the time being. Therefore we have had to offer a smaller area and the opening hours have also been increased. Out side the serving hours, we offer our guests a large and varied selection of health snacks at the vending machine in the lobby with the possibility of heating the meals as well. I understand your feelings of the negative gesture by the closed breakfast buffet and I do believe a compromise could have been made and I will speak with the F&B manager about this for future incidents, but I also respect the time limitations, with which the staff may work. At no point we request to treat anyone inhuman nor uncivilized: When guests are approaching our staff seeking for information or help I am more than sure, that we are happy to help and give all guests the appropriate service which it corresponding to our standard. Once again, please accept my sincere apology and I hope, you will give us the possibility to give you and your family a comfortable and pleasant hotel experience during your next visit. Not a great airport hotel

I don’t expect that much from an airport hotel. All it really needs to do is provide: 1. Be close to the airport. 2. Have reasonably comfortable rooms with minimal noise. 3. Provide smooth checkin and check out experience. 4. Provide free parking 5. Provide transportation from/to the terminals This hotels delivers on 1-2 but fails on point 3,4 and 5. The checkin was slow with a line of people waiting and took over 15 mins total. The parking cost 23 Euro - that is in unexpected for a hotel that is not in the city center. There is no shuttle to/from airport. There is a bus running from the long term parking lot nearby but it’s not the same thing and it’s not free ( I think 2.95 euro per person)

Thanks to the soundproof window glazing, we can offer a quiet and relaxing stay despite the proximity to the airport. We are very pleased that you felt so comfortable in our house before continuing your journey. I am sorry to hear, that you were disappointed of our facilities as an airport hotel. We are aware of the increased waiting time at the front desk and we do our best to smooth an inevitable situation and we still have to improve with more staff. We do ease the departure for all guests as you can use the quick check out and simply leave the room card in the red "check out box" facing the lifts. It is not possible to offer a parking free of charge and we are in balance with the parking fees on the surrounding parking areas. for environmentally reasons we do not have our own shuttle, but cooperate with the airport and the Munich transportation company and the public bus is leaving just outside the hotel for the reasonable price of 1,80€ per person.
