What an awesome stay at Ibis Hamilton. I have stayed at a few Ibis hotels around the world over the years but this one is unlike the others. It has a very modern and fresh feel and firstly I was greeted at the door by the friendliest valet parking team youll ever meet. They were thoughtful and considerate with their questions and it was a real pleasure to have a genuine conversation and that was before I'd even checked in! Reception were quite friendly as well and I was checked in in no time having been given all the info I would need about how to get to my room and the restaurant. Note reception is on 1st floor but there are lifts available. The room was a king and it was quite spacious compared to Ibis hotels of old and would comfortably fit 2 people and their luggage with room to move around. The bathroom was not the usual 'cabin' but a nice bathroom with a normal shower. They had nice thick towels and hand towels which was very nice. The bathroom mirror also had a backlight which helped to see what you were doing. Shower had decent pressure too. The bed was medium soft and comfortable, slept like a log. Pillows comfy too. The air con was one of the better ones Ive had a hotel. You could control the temp up or down as far as you wanted and it would auto adjust. You could also control fan speed or leave on auto as I did. The fan is much quieter than other hotels so it doesnt disturb your sleep. It also maintains a consistent temp. They have two sets of blinds, one is semi transparent and the other blackout which helps when sleeping. They have thought of other things like plugs and usb ports by each bedside, good beside lamps and low wall lighting all controlled separately from bedside. You can even press the top of the alarm clock to turn off the display so the light doesnt shine at night. Tea and coffee kettle supplied and small fridge. Iron and board complete the amenities. There is a drawer as well for items plus plenty of hangers for clothes and a spare pillow if needed. Hotel location is central which is handy. Parking was $40 valet and my car was waiting for me in the morning as planned. I didnt have time for breakfast so cant comment on restaurant. Overall a thoroughly pleasant stay and will stay again next time I'm in Hamilton.

We stayed here for one night. Room was comfortable with a view over the river. Good location near the main street and very close to a nice Italian restaurant. Initially they gave us a room with the wrong bed configuration but this was fixed (not without some grumbling by reception though which made us feel like it was our fault). Breakfast at the hotel was very nice.

Got there to be told parking was $40, the booking said parking and wifi available, not quite true. Could have been more transparent up front about the cost even including it in the rate like breakfast. As soon as keys were handed over got asked when I was leaving as they had a lot of guests and needed time in the morning to get the car, ok took that into consideration but no idea when I’m leaving so no I can’t rebook a time for car retrieval. Rude reception did not explain anything about the hotel it’s wifi password and its amenities, and then told me I misheard about the parking cost, how about speaking clearly, in my country (New Zealand) we go out of our way to be helpful, so please do the same for visitors. Reception is on the first floor, no help with luggage, so you’re dragging it in and out of the lift for one floor, then up to your floor. Housekeeping was nice should hire them for the reception they were more helpful. After the car goes to the $40 park for the night then you can’t drive anywhere. Bed was lumpy and bumpy, sheets were scratchy and itchy, three pillows only. One bottle of soap to use for hands, shower and hair. Shower had nozzle stuck to the wall up high, was it to expensive to buy the slide one. Expensive hotel with nothing plush about it, felt like it was a box with a bed only in the room, no plates, so no taking food back there. Bin had no rubbish bag in it, yuk. Worst experience could not have been more disappointed, especially when you go out of your way to treat yourself, ruined the end of my holiday. $300 a night with a holding fee of $50, prepaid by the way, and coming from Auckland where it was way cheaper, should have paid the extra $20 to go to Novetel. So embarrassing to have a chain like this in New Zealand what must our visitors think, as they get ripped off.

The staff and hotel are impeccable, we had an issue with our booking through booking.com however the staff managed this without fuss The venue itself is located in the heart of the Hamilton CBD and is well presented, comfortable and well priced The kitchen staff are friendly, and breakfast is fresh, tasty and set us up for a great day

O único ponto fraco do hotel é não ter internet gratuita nos quartos. Apesar do Ingles dos Neo Zelandeses ser muito dificil não tive problema na recepção, o pessoal foi muito prestativo. Ponto negativo desta pesquisa é ter que escrever uma avaliação com mais de 200 caracteres.
