Mercure Bords de Loire Saumur Hotel 4 gwiazdki

Recently refurbished but no restaurant post covid. Breakfast great. Room terrific, 205 I recall, with a balcony view of the town. It's a walk iover the bridge for a choice of restaurants but it's not far. Excellent base to explore the Loire. There is a lift from street level. We actually stayed there in Sept 2021. Saumur is a lovely town, the Chateau worth a visit.

This is our second stay here and we shall come back again. The hotel is very comfortable, the staff are very welcoming and it is so well placed to visit Saumur and surrounding areas. The rooms are spacious and breakfasts are copious with great choice.

Firstly, I'm not sure why this hotel is not higher in the TripAdvisor travellers ratings. I've visited here twice now and had a first class experience both times, so I am puzzled. We stayed 2 nights recently in a privilege room facing the river. The views are truly spectacular. Our room had its own lounge area as well as a bedroom and bathroom. So much space, I couldn't fault it. Coffee machine capsules and soft drinks were replaced daily. Take the breakfast option, its plentiful and varied with something for everyone. Views again acroos the river to the castle and town. Parking is free if there is space. If not there is secure parking below for 12 euros a day. Staff attentive and friendly. The perfect stop to savour the beauty of the Loire.

Made a last-minute reservation at this hotel, found the staff to be friendly, helpful and very accommodating. The hotel is set in a beautiful location, overlooking the Loire river, with our room (No 6) having a beautiful riverside view. Rooms are spacious and and elegant, with a very comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. Ample parking. Excellent breakfast. All-round great experience, highly recommended.

The hotel is well located, with views across the river towards the chateau. It's in a quiet area but a short walk across the bridge into town for bars, restaurants and sights. The railway station is also a short walk in the other direction. Outdoor parking was good and felt safe. Our room was on the opposite side to the river, which was disappointing at first. However, as we stayed during the very high temperatures, we found that it only got full sun in the morning which meant that we could open the shutters and let in natural light. The room & bed were comfortable. This from somebody who takes a small mattress topper in the car, which I didn't need to use. The room had an inner door between the door onto the corridor and the room proper, which excluded sound. Air conditioning worked well. Although we couldn't turn the temperature lower than 21C, it was cool enough in the extreme temperatures and we slept well. Breakfast was good & included all the usual stuff, with a good choice of fruit. Staff replenished food regularly. The breakfast room overlooked the river, with an outdoor terrace where you could also eat and enjoy the wildlife on the river, plus the views of Saumur. We enjoyed drinks on the terrace in late afternoon or evening, served by friendly, helpful staff. Bar prices similar to bars in town. The terrace was perfect for watching the Bastille Day firework display on the bridge. Cracking view. I would definitely stay here again, if visiting this area
