Even if the room was ok, i am giving here a single dot as the service at the reception was terrible. The lady was rude and her questions were not correct. Shameful The hotel is next to the rail road and one has to cross the bridge via a dark passage to arrive in Saint Jean-de-Luz which is the nicer part. The surroundings of the hotel are ugly

Only stayed one night as part of a tour group. Served its purpose well, smallish but clean and comfy room with lovely bathroom pod. Breakfast was good though it struggled a bit to cope with 2 large groups. Easily walkable to the town and seafront where there are lots of good restaurants. But remember your way back - a bit tricky down dark paths.

A good couple of nights at an Ibis can often do the trick, and so it proved here. There's nothing much in Ciboure, but the Ibis is in a stylishly reclaimed residential area next to a lovely river with small boats moored along its length. The 10 minute walk to St Jean involved a quick walk under a railway underpass, up some stairs on the other side, across the river and dropping into town. It was a well trodden route for all the Ibis guests! I would guess the St Jean train station is no more 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel itself looks reasonably recently renovated and we benefited from other reviewers' advice to get a larger room for a few pennies more. Well worth the cost for a room 50% bigger plus a sofa. Car parking was in a separate building adjoining the hotel with plentiful spaces and fully secure, if a bit underlit at times. All in all, a good solid choice for a few days in the area.

After a long days travel booked in and parked up . All was very efficient and pleasant and decided to have an early night. We were in room 48. At 2015 hrs we were disturbed by a man entering our room. I confronted him and he left By the time I had put some clothes on he had disappeared. I went to reception and described what had happened and asked them to call the police. On describing the man as a tall thin black man they said he was their cleaner. They apologised and said they would sort it. I heard no more but decided to keep all our belongings in the car. Shame this soured an otherwise pleasant stay. Typical ibis budget having a small room but functional and fine for two nights. Good location and a plus having a car park'
