Nice Stay, but the deposited money refund took a very long time (at the time i write this review, not refunded yet)

I paid a deposit of RMB 5,000 for my stay at Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich from January 5 to January 9, 2026. As of January 12, the deposit has not yet been refunded. The receptionist informed me that the refund would be processed within 24 hours; however, it has now been three days. I have already sent an email and am currently awaiting a response. Overall, the stay was pleasant. The room was quite spacious, and the hotel is located in a nice area close to major hotspots.

Regarding the deposit, please be assured that our hotel follows a standard procedure where a pre-authorization or deposit is held upon check-in, covering room charges and potential incidental expenses, this amount is fully released upon check-out after all settled charges are cleared but how long it would refund to credit card, which is different because it would be affected by issued bank, area and other reasons, however, we are always happy to assist if we can be at further assistance. I had two stays recently,each was 3 rooms for 4 nights ,the first one I’d like to catch the opportunity to keep my platinum level on my ALL membership,but I regret as my son slept the first night on the room floor as the mentioned they don’t have extra bed ,then I go to Sofitel fonshan for 4 nights it was better ,then back to Sofitel Guangzhou for other 4nights the experience let me double confirm that I will not keep my loyalty to ALL group again,the staff were very cold especially the Russian lady in the front desk. Any way very bad experience for me I am using hotels worldwide for more than 100 nights per year as should focus on my diamond elite level in IHG group or even don’t follow loyalty programs

The hotel environment is really nice, and the service here is absolutely top-notch. The lobby bar has a great atmosphere, especially the Martini coffee which is delicious. The scenery around here is wonderful—I’ll definitely come back next time, haha!

Lily greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel at ease right away. Her massage technique was nothing short of magical.
