This was our first stay at this wonderful resort and it certainly won't be our last. We had five nights there and then enjoyed every single minute of it as it is such a well managed and well run establishment. This can't be easy bearing in mind just how big it is but The attention to detail is amazing and we have already got very fond memories of our stay there. Location – very good. It is about a 15 minute drive from the ferry and it is so well established every driver knows where it is. Although not located on the beach, it is just a few steps across the road from the hotel and they're even is a man there helping you across but the road isn't busy at all. Walk five minutes to the left of the hotel and you are in amongst the wonderful beach bars and restaurants, the shops and there's even a 7-Eleven very close by. Rooms – we had an entry level room and it was more than adequate to make us feel very comfortable for the five nights. The air-conditioning was good, there's a big fan on the ceiling to keep you cool and the bed itself was comfortable. We didn't get much outside noise at all and slept particularly well each night. There is a bath, shower and all the toiletries and nice quality towels you could need in the bathroom. The safe is free of charge and easy to use and as you would expect you are provided with all possible comforts such as robes, mini bar, hot drinks making facilities and so on. One possible improvement would be more comfortable furniture on the balcony. We spent ages there in the morning and night looking over the beautiful gardens but it did make your backside sore as it's quite sturdy wooden furniture. Wi-Fi – excellent quality as you would expect. Free for unlimited devices without the need to keep logging in. It was fast enough to stream video and reaches everywhere in the resort including around the pool area. We didn't try it on the beach so I'm not sure about that. Pool – this is the biggest pool in Thailand apparently and it is absolutely stunning. A small niggle was that the adult pool did have children there even though you were meant to be over 18 to use it. Other than that, the area is wonderfully laid out with lots of sun beds both in the shade and in the Sun if you prefer. There was some of the usual selfish reserving but not enough to cause a problem and make you want to rush down and reserve some for yourselves. We just didn't want to get involved in this and we didn't have to. There are lots of games around the area for breaking the day up if you wanted such as badminton, table tennis and many other things to keep you busy. Food – breakfast was included and it was astonishing! We are lucky enough to travel to many, many different hotels but I've never seen the spread as good as this. They have just about everything you can think of including Indian, Thai, a wonderful noodle soup stand and the best croissants you will ever have! It's impossible to list everything available but we loved our breakfast at the place and it is until 1030 which is a good thing. A special comment for the lobby bar. We used this in the evening for a drink or to get ice for the room and it was fantastic. The guitarist and singer were possibly the best I've ever seen in a hotel and they play every night I think. The service from the bar staff was wonderful and a special mention for Blute who was an absolute joy to deal with and looked after us very well indeed. All in all, this obviously isn't the cheapest resort around but it must be the best. The management are very visible and you're every need is attended to by the concierge and Reception staff. We've stayed in this area many times before and now wouldn't consider staying anywhere else but here.

Upon check-in, the reception staff did not provide a map of the resort or explain the available facilities. Considering the size of the resort, I would recommend providing a map for guests. The trainee who escorted me to my room was very helpful; however, the reception staff's service was subpar. Furthermore, upon entering my room, I found hair in the shower. As I had not yet showered, it was clear that the hair belonged to a previous guest. This is unacceptable. As a Platinum member of Accor, I am entitled to access the lounge for afternoon tea and evening cocktails. During afternoon tea, I had to ask staff to take my order, and I observed preferential service towards foreign guests over Thai guests like myself. However, the service improved during the evening cocktail hours. Later, around 9:15 PM, I called to the reception to inquire about room service, as well as happy hour and bar promotions. I was directed to check the menu myself and visit the bar for information on promotions, which I found unacceptable. Reception staff should possess basic knowledge of such details or offer to investigate and respond accordingly. This raises concerns about the quality of Sofitel's staff training. However the service I received from the White Lotus F&B team during my dinner. In particular, Khun Sao's outstanding service truly turned my experience around and left a lasting positive impression. Her professionalism and dedication are the primary reason I would consider returning to this hotel. Khun Sao has clearly trained her staff to a very high standard. I would also like to commend Khun Lita, Khun Pang, Khun Jib, and Khun Jah, who were all incredibly kind and welcoming. Having stayed at many Accor hotels, I must admit that I was disappointed with the Sofitel Krabi. I felt that the staff were not as welcoming to Thai guests. To be frank, I am not usually a demanding guest, but I found the service From All Pullman to be far superior.

White lotus food was amazing, looking for pure veg food and chef Mahabir made delicious dinner. Malai kofta was best ever and host Jubjib was very courteous and served well. Thks sofitel. After a wonderful day in phi phi this was icing on the cake.

Sofitel Krabi – A Beautiful Setting with Missed Opportunities As an Accor Diamond member and frequent traveler who has seen hotels in all phases — from brand-new to gracefully aging to outright neglect — I approached Sofitel Krabi with curiosity and optimism. The setting is undeniably beautiful, and the potential is certainly there. But the experience left much to be desired, primarily due to inconsistent service and management that seems disconnected from the guest experience. 1. Arrival & Check-in The arrival was smooth in terms of logistics, but coordination was lacking. We had two separate bookings and had communicated in advance with the hotel to arrange a birthday room decoration. Upon check-in, it turned out the decoration was done in the wrong room. We were asked to wait another 30 minutes while it was supposedly being fixed — but nothing changed. The name on the birthday card was also incorrect. 2. Rooms The rooms themselves are fine. Bedding and bathroom facilities meet five-star standards, and overall comfort is consistent with what one expects from the Sofitel brand. No complaints here — this part of the product delivers. 3. Hotel Grounds The grounds are spacious and well-maintained, but the layout prioritizes design over function. For instance, the winding paths to the pool are more aesthetic than practical. If they’re meant to be scenic walkways, then benches or shaded areas would make sense — otherwise, more direct access would be appreciated. 4. Pool Area & Service The pool is large and inviting, but curiously lacks basic five-star amenities like water dispensers — something you’d expect to be readily available in tropical heat. Each umbrella is equipped with a call button and a menu, but pressing the button rarely produced any response. When we asked the bar staff why, we were told, “You came here anyway, so just order now.” Meanwhile, several staff members stood nearby looking at their phones, seemingly unaware of or uninterested in guest needs. 5. Breakfast The breakfast buffet was underwhelming. The selection was limited and uninspired, and the execution could benefit from more culinary finesse. The chef seems to lack exposure to diverse breakfast formats, and basic consistency was missing — with vegetable cuts ranging from 1mm to 3cm in the same bowl. 6. Service Culture The overall atmosphere could be described as relaxed — but not in a good way. The service culture is marked by forgetfulness, detachment, and a lack of proactive care. Requests are often repeated multiple times before action is taken, if at all. 7. Management Presence There is a manager who can often be seen pacing the grounds, but his purpose remains unclear. He appeared more concerned with sampling the kitchen than addressing service issues or interacting meaningfully with guests. To be candid, his presence felt more theatrical than operational — reminiscent of a rooster strutting around a yard without much awareness beyond his own movements. 8. Staff Highlights One bright spot deserves special mention: the young woman working at the Explorer Bar near the reception. She was consistently warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable — a rare example of steady, guest-focused service. Her professionalism stood out starkly in contrast to the overall service culture and gave us a glimpse of what the Sofitel experience could be. ⸻ Final thoughts Sofitel Krabi has the infrastructure, the brand name, and the natural beauty to offer a truly memorable stay. What it lacks is cohesive management, attention to service detail, and a sense of hospitality that goes beyond the superficial. With the right leadership and retraining, this could become a flagship resort. For now, however, it feels like a beautiful property stuck in autopilot.
