The rooms were clean and nice enough. Although we weren’t in the hotel much during our stay, but when we were the service wasn’t the best. Unwelcoming atmosphere and staff! But not too much of a problem for us as we weren’t there much! But if you planning on staying here for good customer service and being indoors this is not the place unfortunately.

Be very very wary when booking a late checkout! When you get told by staff face to face that late checkout is free until 1pm, so you pay extra to book it until 4pm and pay extra, when you confirmed by phone to extend until 5pm, and they try to charge you for free hour that you had booked for until 4pm.

I was extremely disappointed at this stay despite the bed being very comfortable, this isn't a 4 star hotel and the customer service is 1 star, if you can find any. Big issue with staff on the clean air zone by the way, on checking in it was the only question we had (they didn't tell us anything just 'heres your key') but we expressly asked about the caz to avoid charges. The young man simply advised that the council will let us know if our car is applicable. And we left it at that. Of course we should be able to trust hotel staff to advise correctly but that was an expensive mistake I'll never make again. And likely means I'll avoid accor hotels in future. We complained about this and were sent a dismissive response from the hotel manager who advised us we should have checked online and noticed the signs driving through town. Not even an apology which is all it would have taken. The most important thing in the hotel industry is customer service and on that point novotel and accor are falling far far short.

Bland no frills basic hotel. Certainly not a 4 star! Clean but not much else to be positive about. Dated , old bathroom fittings- leaking and dripping shower! Toiletries in refillable containers which is not hygienic, being used by endless people, the handwash had 1 inch in the bottom of the bottle! Bed hard, old and uncomfortable, pillows cheap and uncomfortable. Absolutely no welcome from reception on arrival- had to ask re breakfast arrangements etc, no lounge area, bar area no atmosphere, no music, totally bland decor. The biggest table was constantly occupied by staff with laptops whilst groups of customers struggled and had to rearrange the furniture to sit together. Some of the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful ie at breakfast, but this was more of an exception. I would never consider staying at a Novotel hotel again!

Hotel is in a great location and super central! The hotel is as you'd expect, however I was a little disappointed with the check in experience, where I was simply given my key - no explanation of the hotel services or where to find anything, including the breakfast times, it seems very much fend for yourself. The room was clean and as you'd expect. Food was pretty average, I ordered an omelette to my room and it had been cooked to within an inch of its life, I had no idea it was possible for an omelette to be that dry... Another issue I encountered was the temperature, I was there for an event hosted in one of the conference rooms, we approached reception on a number of occasions as the temperature was icy in the room, but nothing was done, we ended up spending the entire day with coats on, not ideal! Not somewhere I would choose to stay again unfortunately.
