The hotel is well located for exploring Barcelona and seems quite new or recently refurbished. The lifts are a problem there’s constant queue for the lifts and we had to take the stairs quite a few times. The breakfast is plentiful but again is overly busy for the number of tables. The buffet is disorganised and there’s no logic to where the food and drinks are located so it requires a lot of walking around with plates and people crossing over each other to get their meal. There were mistakes on our bill and reception weren’t very helpful. Because they were busy they kept us waiting ages until they came back to us. The shower dial in our room was stiff and never fixed.

This was probably my worst experience at a Novotel, ever. I am used at staying at Novotel for the level of service, the warm welcome, feeling valued for my loyalty with gifts and upgrades. This is exactly what I did not find in Barcelona. This is a huge hotel, 17 floors of rooms, with all the potential impacts (queue, noise, all sun beds occupied,…) Check in: queue, i had to remind that with my loyalty program breakfast was included, I had to request a room upgrade Arrival in the room: while you can stay at 4, I advise you to not. The room is tiny and the sofa is not adapted for two big kids (7 and 11) disapponted by the upgrade, I sent a note to the management which was answered by a standard and polite answer, nothing was done to improve my perception. The pool is small and clearly crowded Breakfast is a large buffet; very continental. No local / fresh ingredients. It is very busy and noisy Check out was ok

We will certainly review these aspects to address the issues you encountered. Our hotel welcome, indeed, lots of families and couples and especially during summer time ! That is why the hotel can be more full and noisy. Regarding the room upgrade, it not always guaranteed. Our staff need to verify the availability, the possibility of a change to a higher room, during peak times. Our building architecture does not allow us to build a larger pool space. It was thinken to offer the best aquatic space for our guests and to welcome a minimum good number of clients at the same time. We are sorry if there was lots of guests at the same time. Regarding the breakfast buffet we offer, it is indeed continental. However, all of our products and fresh and local. The breakfast and the restaurant food in general are always the most appreciated aspects of our hotel. Our chef Micki make sure every day to have the freshest products and the most local. The hotel is clean, room is ok and they serve a good breakfast. However the level of maintenance was quite upsetting. The key system does not work resulting in extreme frustration while trying to use the elevator or trying to enter the room. We literally spent 20-30 minutes every day just trying to get to the room. Either the key was not working at elevator/room or we were going up and down to reset the key or waiting for other guests having the same problem and blocking elevators trying to make them work. On top of that we also had a problem with the hairdryer not working in our room, they did not have a replacement and fixing took 24 hours. Parking is extremely tight, be ready to spend quite some time to park your car if you have a medium size or bigger car.

Good location with lovely rooftop pool and good options for breakfast

I stayed as a family of 4 in August 24. Well located next to a shopping centre and 4 mins walk from Glories Metro station. Cute rooftop pool with a lovely lifeguard on duty. Check in was very inefficient, started off with three people on open desks before one came off and no replacement, this was at check in time. No one paid attention to the priority check in line for members which is frustrating for someone who should have had priority. Lifts and key cards were a nightmare. Breakfast was lovely, lots of options and catered well for allergies.

Great location. We could see Sagrada familia from our room. Swimming pool on the rooftop was special for the kids after all the walk we did. The hotel is in front a shopping mall and many tapas restaurants around. And the hotel restaurant was a big surprise with great quality dishes.
